Heartless!

Heard this disturbing news last night, a laborer on his way to work noticed a shopping bag in a deserted area. The bag appeared to be moving so he decided to investigate.
In it he found a newborn baby, still alive and crying. He managed to get the day old baby to a hospital where she is receiving care .
Now if that mother was in a situation where she could not keep the child how could she leave it in a bag anywhere like that?
Why not take the baby to a hospital or clinic then disappear if she must. How could she leave that infant in an area where anything could happen to it? What if stray dogs came around?
The police are investigating. I hope they find the mother.

Indeed, so heartless. How could anyone do that to an innocent baby? They must be insane or deranged. No one in her right mind would do that. I'm glad the baby is in the hospital now. Despite the misfortune, I hope he grows up to be a good human being.

Some places won't allow a person to drop off a baby and disappear again. All hospitals and clinics have cameras. We don't/can't know the situation for that mother. I agree she could have done something better than just leaving the baby but I don't know what that would be... Maybe leave the baby in a store or something but, most stores have cameras so they would have found her again quickly...
At least she left the baby where someone would find it. The mother could have been still watching from hiding to make sure nothing happened to the baby. We can't judge what we don't know.

Here we don't have cameras everywhere. Where she left the baby was a deserted area, that man just happened to take that route. Yes we do not know her situation but just as the plan was to put it in a shopping bag and dump it somewhere, she could have worn a mask and and plan to leave it somewhere more public.
Then again, l don't think she wanted that baby to be found - the afterbirth was also in the bag!

There are no words to describe this mother and how heartless it was to abandon her baby in a bag somewhere. Thank goodness that laborer came by and stopped to check. There are ways to surrender a baby with no questions asked. Many fire departments even offer this option.

@Kandae11 this hits close to home for me. I was adopted when I was an infant and have always been thankful for the loving parents that adopted me.

@Marilynda1225 Did you ever find out or wish to find out who was your birth mother?

It is very sad. Recently, someone found a newborn in a dumpster. Thankfully, the baby was saved. There is a safe haven law here: you can drop off a newborn at a hospital, fire station, and they've even allowed churches, and no questions will be asked. They have specially made "drop off" boxes at fire stations too.

That is horrible, she could have at least left it on someone's doorstep or at a fire station. Only a scared young girl would do something that dumb.

What a disturbing story.
Something is definitely wrong with the mother.

This is terrible. Whoever the mother is was not in her right frame of mind. Perhaps she was hoping someone would find it. In such cases there are places that take in infants if a person can't take care of it. I've heard of people leaving a baby at the doorstep of a stranger and ringing the bell and leaving. God bless the stranger who took the baby to a place it could get help.

The mother should be found and punished. You don't have the right to give birth to a child if you can't rear it.

Oh! That's cruel.
. I don't know the condition and situation of mother and so would not judge her. One might suffer from some sort of mental disorder to take such drastic step. It's heartless.
The labourer was a God sent Angel. Hope the child recovers and gets a loving home.

So long as the baby is rescued and I give credit to the one who took good care for it to the hospital. I am not interested in the mother cause I know it's problems and stress related to life that made her to do so.

There is a law covering these cases here in Colorado.
It is called the Safe Haven Law.
The law lets parents safely surrender their newborn no older than 3 days to a fire station or hospital without fear.

This is very sad. The mother must be in a bad state to abandon a baby like that. Perhaps there is something more sinister about this story .
