What's the quickest way to make you feel healthy?

I'm not talking about finding a quick fix on how to lose weight on a diet. It's just that various times of the day I can hardly keep myself upright, and I keep thinking there must be something that would give me the energy to sit up without it feeling like such an effort. I drink plenty of water, but I definitely don't want an energy drink due to the inevitable sugar crash that would follow. The picture included is an order I made from Surf Bar, a health spot I order from sometimes. You're looking at coconut, kiwi, and mango. I requested some flaxseeds (good for the liver), but I can't remember what else was in it - maybe almond milk? I'm kind of desperate. I don't know if this is related to my heart tests, but I don't think so. The cardiologist asked me to come in again next week so I guess I'll find out. It's just disconcerting to be walking the dog, and having to bend at the waist just because you can no longer stand up straight. Or, I'm sitting, and I have to lean down because my back no longer supports me. What is the quickest way you make yourself feel better, health wise?

I really can't think of a quick fix. I've had several surgery's which made me feel better later. The doctor will run tests and find the problem.

Maybe it really is a small thing, and I’m overthinking it. Thank you, Ruby, I feel better.

@AmbiePam I hope it's just a small thing and the doctor can fix it.

I eat things like smoked salmon, sardines, tuna or chicken, those help me get the energy I want then I add all kinds of veggies into a soup.

I always SAY I should try sardines, and then I never do. Are you talking about the ones you just go get in a can at the supermarket? If you are, I think I’ll write that down, go buy some, and just give it a go. Salmon was my dinner tonight. I love it.

Yes but the sardines I look for are in water without any added salt, I usually get mine online.

You already mentioned it. I drink a lot of water or Gatorade. I feel the crappiest when I am dehydrated.

I was told Gatorade helped with migraines so I used to carry a bottle of water, and Gatorade everywhere I went.

A nice big bowl of oatmeal with a little brown sugar and walnuts. I hope the visit will help you with some answers next week Amber. Oatmeal is a comfort food for me as well. My dear Grandmother had a bowl every single day for breakfast. And I joined her when I was there. So many good memories from spending time with her. I hope you can find what works good for you.

Well, rest usually does help me feel better. Also stretching helps me keep limber. I have discovered the past two years or so, if I fail to eat healthy, I am going to drag and not feel well. I sure don't have any magic words for you, I wish I did!

@MarieCoyle I mimicked a salad I had years back at Wendy’s, and it was so good! Strawberries, grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, and it was so good.

Your back no longer supports you? This sounds very serious Ambie. What do they say about this? Sounds like muscle weakness..wow so sorry this is happening. Wish I were there to help you as well. For me, well, it has to be some food my Mom made which is curry..hot spicy turmeric curry. Now I know that would not be everyone's cup of tea though. Other than that, perhaps a seven up or something might help me feel better. Are you eating properly like meat and spuds and veggies or no?

@RebeccasFarm No, they would send me home. But before my cardiologist appointment next week I have an appointment with my primary care physician Friday, so I’ll mention it to him.

I used to put turmeric in my smoothies. I heard it was so good for inflammation. I’m eating properly with the exception of a couple of Cokes (I have a feeling I’ll be giving those up next week) It’s not back pain because I take pain medicine, and I didn’t consider it muscle weakness, but maybe you’re right? It’s just all of a sudden, I can’t hold myself up. If I didn’t lean over I’m afraid I’d collapse.

This particular thing has come and gone over the last eight or so years. I have so many health problems it didn't seem worth bothering anyone about. But since it's really starting to interfere with my life I should probably mention it. I just always assume it's part of fibromyalgia or something. Thank you for saying a prayer about it.

I feel good when l eat less sugar and definitely no fatty foods. lt doesn't sound like a heart problem, but the cardiologist is the one to rule that out.

Sugar and fatty foods make me feel terrible. I don’t even want to touch it. The cardiologist has been trying to figure out why my blood pressure has been crazy, and why I passed out, but I don’t think it’s connected either.

Oh dear, you have had so many issues with your back, but it sounds like this is not related. Your fruit bowl looks good. I would say honestly, that I do not know what makes me feel healthy. I do not So are they thinking you have something wrong with your heart? I think I would try small naps periodically. Relaxed outdoor time as well. Praying for you Ambie.

@AmbiePam I have had dizzy spells at this time of year for three years now. Hubby had me check my blood pressure and when I am dizzy it is low. It almost sounds like they have given you too much blood pressure medicine. When I was feeling dizzy I thought perhaps I was dehydrated, and it did seem to help to drink some Gatorade zero. I think I drink plenty of water, but my body seemed to need the electrolytes. You might try regular V-8, or low salt version. It helps without giving you the sugar crash.

Oh, it's just my blood pressure has been low enough for me to pass out a couple of times, and for the last six months it had been pretty high. They found a few other slightly eyebrow raising things so they did more tests. But I truly think my heart is fine. Thank you for the helpful tips, and thank you so much for the prayers. I am very grateful for them, and you.

I've been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 and hypertension in 2017. I went on a low-carb diet and lose weight, I became somewhat healthy again and maintained my meds. I joined Low-carb groups and I found out if you keep on having a low-carb diet consistently, you will get out of maintenance meds. I plan to pursue this so I won't be having a lot of meds forever. Hope that helps

For me, a shower will hit the reset button. A few minutes outdoors in the sun makes me feel like I'm being charged up. Some brisk exercising/dancing makes me feel "circulated". Drinking hot water with lemon and honey often makes me feel better if I feel like a cold is coming on. Maybe those are all more energy perks . . . but I guess those are some of the things that make feel better for the moment anyway. I hope they can figure out what's going on and that you get better soon!!
