Did the pandemic change your lifestyle? How?

Up to now, we're wearing masks whenever we go out. We also avoid crowded places, such as malls during weekends and holidays.
I prefer eating at home than venturing outside for my meals.
I wash my hands and my feet very often too and I take a bath before and after coming from shopping or outside that could be prone to the spread of infectious/communicable diseases.
I became more health conscious.
What about you? What changed in your life after Covid-19?

We're still wearing masks if we leave the house. I never would have tried wearing a mask to help with my allergies but have found I LIKE not having a runny nose all the time from stuff I'm allergic to.
I also lost my job and have applied for disability. I didn't have the time before Covid to go to doctors and find out why I was always feeling sick and now some of those problems have been found and I'm under doctor care for them. There is still the problem of my eyes swelling shut that the doctors can't find a reason for but at least they're trying to figure it out.
We don't eat out at all now so I'm cooking most of our meals. We still buy some frozen things so I don't have to cook all the time so that's okay...
None of our friends come over and we don't go to their houses, either. I do miss them but I still talk with them on the phone or text with them, though. *sigh* (They won't get the Covid shots so we don't take chances being around them.)

I'm glad many are still wearing their masks when they go out. Aside from covid, there are a number of viruses that can be transmitted through air (airborne) , so it's wise to use masks, And yes, this safety measure will also prevent you from coming in contact with allergens.
I'm sorry that you lost your job and are now suffering from health problems. I pray that you would feel better soon and that your doctors will figure out what's wrong with your eyes.
I am wondering why your friends refuse to get the shot. Yes, it's safer not to get in contact with them physically. It's better to be safe than sorry, as the saying goes..

That's funny, how could people believe these absurd (fake) videos? People who create these videos spreading misinformation should be fined or incarcerated.
Then, it's good that you can now focus on your health. It's the most important.
Have a great weekend, and happy MyLotting!

@Jenaisle Thank you. The health problems were there before I got fired so I'm glad they're being investigated now.
Some of my friends get strange ideas and even proving their thoughts are wrong won't make them change their minds. (One friend saw that fake video of worms coming out of pork if you soak the pork in Coke and won't believe it was just a stunt to make people buy more beef instead of pork.
)
Yup! I definitely agree.

I used to wear mask even before pandemic when going to places with dust and pollution. I didn't want my allergies to trigger.
I practised all these hygiene measures ( washing and changing after coming home, separate footwears for home etc) even before pandemic. And we were never too much into eating out. Always prefer a simple hot home cooked meal

@Jenaisle Yes, not so much except for a fear always lingering on that we might catch the virus again. We got Covid despite taking all precautions and not stepping out of our home during the second wave here in India.

Yes it has changed me a lot. I still don't touch handles with my hands and like to keep myself away from any dirt

@Butterfingers Yeah, I used tissues and throw them right away, if I can't avoid touching them. One can never tell what those door handles harbor - could be hundreds of microbes.

We are still careful. I try to avoid crowded places if I can. And like you, I am sure I take more showers than I ever have, and change my clothing when I return from errands, etc. I've always considered myself a clean and sanitary person, but this has made me aware that I really do not want to be sick with Covid if I can help it. Not to mention I do not want to bring it to my son, who more than likely would not survive it.

Smart thinking, Marie. Yes, this virus can attach itself to any surface and could even survive long periods of time depending on the environment, especially when it's colder there. You're doing good sanitary practices. I wonder how old your son is? If you don't mind my asking. If it's too personal, then feel free not to answer it.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

@MarieCoyle OMG, I'm sorry for asking. But I'm glad he survived. I pray he would continue getting better and better. You're a good and wonderful mother. Take care.

It's OK to ask, honestly. I just want him to heal back to who he was before...his body was so beat up by that wreck. Thank you so much.

Besides wearing a mask where it was required, and not going out to eat, I didn't change anything. I did get a little too comfortable without makeup.
Since I was constantly wearing a mask I saw no need to wear any at all. Now that I am mask free I grudgingly wear makeup again, but not nearly as often as before. Is this a weird change to associate with Covid? Absolutely, yes!

Monday was the first time I've eaten in a restaurant since the pandemic. We went for lunch and the place wasn't crowded and we didn't have to sit very close to other people. I tend to stay away from crowded stores and always carry a mask in case I come across a situation where there's a lot of people.

@Marilynda1225 Right. that would also be uncomfortable for me. Viruses could be airborne, so it's good to be fully aware of ways to protect one's self.

@Jenaisle going at lunch time is less crowded than dinner time. I was glad that we didn't have to sit too close to other people.

Yes, the pandemic has changed our lives. I too wear a mask whenever I go out, wash my hands and legs whenever I come home from a walk or from the market or from the doctor.

@Jenaisle The WHO has predicted that the virus will never go and so we have to take our own precautions.

For a period, there was a noticeable shift from the usual routine, but recently things have returned to their normal state. However, one aspect remains clear: during the pandemic, there was a time when returning home from work became an unnerving experience, even in broad daylight. Residing in Karachi, often referred to as a "concrete jungle," the streets would appear eerily deserted despite their vastness and the presence of towering buildings. It felt as if I had stepped into a simulated scene from an apocalyptic film.

The way you describe it is "chilling" too. Deserted streets, like a zombie film. It was the same here too during the original phase, all businesses were closed and no one is on the street, except for a few cars.
I hope everything is back to normal again, post covid era. Do you still wear masks there?
