Jay and I are so happy! The owner accepted our bid, on the property we're interest in buying. Thus, we have just become the new owners of a nice lot in Tawas City. Jay drove to Bay City today, to tie up some business deal with a friend. He called to let me know, that John(the realtor)had returned Jay's phone message, with very good news. We had looked at twelve other lots. Three of them, the building requirements were crazy! The previous owner determines what style of home a newbie can build:( NOPE! One lot was sitting like a soup bowl, in a nice neighborhood. Whenever it rains, all those property owners are sitting on higher ground! So, where does the excess water flow? Onto the vacant lot, of course! lol Three lots were really nice, located just outside Essexville. The owner refuses to split up these lots, to the tune of $50,000! What? Are they crazy? Two other lots were in Essexville, one was way too small. Another lot, the structure of a new home has to be at least 1,800 square feet of living space. Goodness, for two retired people? NOPE! Three lots in AuGres along US-23 were nice, probably about 12 miles from Tawas City. We were considering one of these lots, until we spotted a small piece of property, walking distance from where we're renting a home. We went to the realtor and put a security deposit down, for this plot of ground. As of today, this is where we will start building our new home! Yippee:) Photo: Mine from today
