Better late than never

Our son in Melbourne, Victoria, sent, in one envelope, a Mother’s Day card, and birthday cards for both Vince and myself. He used an address Vince had put on some correspondence. It should give the unit number first then the street number.
Unfortunately, Vince got the numbers the wrong way round. Instead of 146/120 Citizen Road (not our real address), he had written 120/146 Citizen Road. It wasn’t much of a surprise when the cards didn’t turn up. I went to check on 146 Citizen Road but there is a café at 101, then a roundabout, and a new shopping centre being built then the numbers start again at 147. So there wasn’t much we could do.
However, today the cards have turned up in our mailbox. I know our son will be very pleased as indeed we are. He is two hours ahead of us and probably tucked up in bed but I’ve emailed him so he’ll know as soon as he wakes.
The photo is of No. 1 son playing Jenga with his grandmother.

Exactly but there are so few letters being mailed now that I wouldn't be surprised if the delivery doesn't go to maybe once a week or whatever. So much is done online now - payments, etc, even bank statements. We don't get those by mail unless we specifically ask for them.

They could have incurred more losses for the whole process

@JudyEv When my mom was still in her own home, we'd do jigsaw puzzles but she was losing her sight, so I'd place a piece near her where it would go, and she would still be able to play.

@BarBaraPrz It's hard when their sight starts to go. I'd play patience but point out which cards could go where so she could join in. She also loved crossword puzzles and was much better at them than I was.

Oh boy...well at least you can stop looking for them now. In your son's defense he had the wrong info.

Our two sons were so good to my Mum but then she's always showered them with love and affection too.

Okay so number one son is the son that sent the cards right? In the photo?
Gosh Judy, the resemblance is so strong in your family.
So glad now you got those cards..easy mistake writing it wrong of Vince.
I love this photo

I'm just so pleased for our son that the cards turned up. He was very disappointed when we worked out they were addressed wrongly.
Mum loved playing Jenga. We'd find a loose rod and push it through just enough for her to get hold of. She'd pull it out then we'd place it on top for her. It was a lot of fun for all of us.

At least the mail person was able to figure it out.
They both look fully engaged with the game.

@JudyEv Did it work? (From the way you worded that, my guess is they didn't. I'm sorry.)

I shared a strong bond with both sets of my grandparents. Glad that my daughters do the same. My daughters had a good bond with my grandparents too.
