Well, I called the doctor's office again yesterday morning and finally got a call back from "Nathan" around 11 am. He said that having this much pain was "normal", "it will subside", "you can request more pain pills if necessary" and then he asked me when hubby's follow-up appointment was. Gave me no satisfaction whatsoever. He needs to feel better for himself but also he needs to go to the bank to get cash to pay the landscaper. He's not going to wait forever. We need to go inside the bank, not just through the drive-through; so I can't do it. I wish you could see my husband walking all hunched over and in such pain. It would make you angry. Hubby's cousin came over yesterday and watered the new plants for us. They were all getting droopy. She will come again Saturday morning. We aren't expecting any rain for the next week! She couldn't use the hose which was a giant pain. She had to use a watering can and run around the back of the house to fill it each time. Breakfast - Cinnamon oatmeal square Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken, rice, mixed vegetables, red cabbage, Mandarin oranges Dessert/Snack - Cranberry orange muffin Dinner - Turkey and Swiss on a bagel and potato salad What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Mine - If memory serves me correctly, this is the oldest house in Key West, Florida (now the Curry Mansion Inn). There is a widow's walk (or widow's watch) at the very top which you can't see. We climbed a ladder to get to the very top and look out.

That is one fancy looking house. I'm sorry you're not getting any satisfaction from the doctor. Can your husband go to the emergency department?

I finished mowing the rest of the yard yesterday afternoon and then it started sprinkling off and on the rest of the day. At least the yard is finally finished. It depends on which weather report you look at for my area. The National Weather forecast says no rain for the next seven days. The local weather forecast shows rain again Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I ate a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast, a fried ham sandwich for lunch and a slice of Shepherd's Pie for supper. I hope you and your hubby have a good day.

@Laurakemunto True... I wasn't sure I'd get the yard completely mowed before the rain started. Thank you. I did enjoy my meals.

Why do I perceive that they don't have empathy for their patients? If the patient is in severe pain, it means the medication is not working and perhaps they can change it to something that would ease his level of pain. May I ask if you could not bring him to their ER for treatment? I could understand how painful it must be for him. Breakfast - oatmeal and 1 banana Lunch - rice, shrimp, and veggies Dinner - rice, luncheon meat and chicken

@LindaOHio Right, his doctor should have done something. I'm wondering what type of doctor could ignore his patient's pain.

Can you zelle the landscaper money? That’s a great option if possible. More pills to dull the pain may not be a good thing. Never know the side effects.

@LindaOHio As an example, my mom has Chase and I have Chase. We both signed up for Zelle through our bank. We can Zelle (send) each other money through our online Chase account. No fee. If anyone else has a Zelle account you can send money to them. I think you sign up for it through your online bank account. You sign up with either your email or your cell phone number. I think any bank would allow that. Chase was just an example. Maybe Zelle has its own app or online site but that I have no idea.

@lovebuglena Thanks. I checked it out yesterday; and I believe you have to have a cell phone. The landscaper decided we could give him a check. That solves that problem.

Sorry to hear how the conversation went. It's disappointing when they are no help. That's good the plants got watered, sorry about it being a pain to do though. No rain would be nice. We got a big storm yesterday with rain and lots of hail. There were piles of it!

Does your insurance pay for Urgent Care? I just ask because mine only pays for the ER, so I can't go for the "less serious" option. I use the term "less serious" not at all to minimize his pain. I'm speaking from their silly perspective. Their sad attempts at assurances must be driving you guys absolutely crazy. If Urgent Care isn't an option, I'd go straight to the ER.

I had chicken taco salad for lunch, and BBQ chicken and rice for dinner. Isn’t it infuriating how doctors offices just don’t seem to care (unless you don’t pay them, then you’ll hear from them 80 times a day)!!! One of the lasting side effects of covid, I’m afraid.

I am angry at the doctor. This should not happen and is totally unacceptable. Again, I am so sorry he is going through this much pain. I hope he can find a new doctor soon. And get some relief. Happy you got your plants watered. I know that gave you some relief. The pocket hoses are so much easier to use. A nice looking home in the photo. Great memories to share. I hope today is better for both of you.

I am thinking the medical community ought to have more compassion and address pain. For sure they have medicines or other methods they know of but wont prescribe.

I think taking so much pain reliever is not good for our body. If you can endure the pain, you'd had better not take a pain reliever.
