Thursday Morning Brief

Good morning on this cool sunny morning in Green Bay, Wisconsin USA with a brilliant blue sky without haze.
We're in the 60s F today. I'll take it. What we could use and isn't in the forecast is rain.
I went to bed at almost 11 last night and didn't get up until almost 5. I still got my usual sleep hours. I also have everything done already this morning: Bible study, games, and notifications, are all done.
I'm still waiting on Amazon to let me know Where Eagles Soar is available. Yes, I'm chomping at the bit. It took forever to get it published, I want to hold it in my hands now. There is one hiccup with the book. I realized my mistake this morning in the bright dawn and clear mind.
I like my front pages without numbers. Didn't happen. When I did the first preview of the book, I realized I needed to add a page to the front. It turned out I needed to add two pages to make it come out right. My mistake was adding two blank pages. What I needed to do was add one blank page and a page break. Had I done the page break, I could have gotten my front pages without numbers. So, instead, I have alternating numbers on the front pages. In other words not numbers on every page, but every other page. So, okay, not tragic, but I'm a perfectionist with my writing, and I had to give up without a solution. However, all the page numbers are correct in the body of the book, and that's what counts.
With that said, what are my plans for today? Other than Canasta this afternoon, I don't know. I don't want to start work yet on Destination Love, though it's well on the way as I was editing it along with Where Eagles Soar except for the last couple of months. Usually, when I finish a book, I don't work on anything for at least a week. I will also usually read instead of writing. I have many books to read right now. So, then the question is, what book will I read?
I can't and shouldn't read while I write. Why you ask? POV. I noticed that my characters took on the voice and dialect of the characters I was reading, and that made a lot of trouble and I needed to go back and fix the POV. Point of View.
So, now, I'm free for at least a week. It's time to choose a book and read. I could also do a deep cleaning of the apartment. That also gets neglected when I'm writing. Though I'm getting better about it. Especially, when I get notices on my door about inspections. We had one this week. Having company also gets me moving and getting the apartment cleaned. I had that too this week. So, I really don't have any cleaning to do right now. Though I guess I could take the garbage down. I could also catch up on my shows. Though right now, I'm not happy with my TV. I don't know if it's where I live, or the TV brand, or the Internet messing with the TV, but last night when I tried to watch the weather before boing to bed, I'm seeing a new choice on the side bar - Antenna. That leads me to local television. However, choosing Antenna gives me a blank screen for several minutes and punching buttons doesn't do anything more than aggravate me. The news was over by the time I got a channel guide screen. Something I never had before. Finding the channel I wanted just to see the weather was also fun. I was afraid it wasn't there anymore. I finally found it. This morning I had the same trouble. Thankfully, the news wasn't over by the time I got the channel opened up. This is going to take some getting used to. There must be an easier way to get my local channels.
Oh my, this has really gotten long. See what happens when I have time on my hands. You get extra long posts to read.
How is your day shaping up? Oh in case you missed it, I have Canasta at noon. Thanks for reading this extended post and my rambling thoughts. The image belongs to me. My book cover.
Edit: Where Eagles Soar is available on Amazon and Kindle.

You are such an inspiration. I would be a perfectionist as well if I were doing my own book. Hopefully I will one day. So happy for you once again to see your book available on Amazon. A nice day here so far. Sunshine. An early walk was nice. Have a great day.

I’m sorry about the numbers not being the way you wanted. I know how happy you are to have it published.

Your point of view comment reminded me of when I was about eleven, and I had been reading books by a lot of British authors. I then wrote a book report, and got some uncharacteristic spelling errors counted against me. Instead of "realize", I had been using " realise ". And for some inexplicable reason I actually wrote " theatre " instead of "theater". What American eleven year old in their right mind does that?
I'm rooting for the success of your book!

Canasta day. Cool. Sounds like a bit of a complicated process to publish your book. The cover looks good.

The cover is very eye catching. Too much time isn't always a bad thing.

You will get used to the change on your TV. I hate when this stuff makes changes if the old was working fine.
Glad the book is available

Congratulations of getting Where Eagles Soar published and on Amazon and Kindle. I never pay attention to page numbers in a book, unless it is a songbook at church.
I have a couple of errands to take care of in a little while. I am going to make Mike and I something new for dinner. It's called Lion's Head Meatballs With Chinese Cabbage. We saw it being made on a cooking show and decided we would try it. I hope it turns out good.
Enjoy your Canasta games this afternoon.
Have a blessed day
