Thursday Happenings

Happy Thursday Everyone! another day of smoke filled haze. To say that we need rain is an understatement. Right now I'm waiting for my son to come and fix our downstairs toilet. I've had nothing but trouble with this toilet from day one and right now it's just easier for him to fix it than replace it. At some point we're going to have to replace it but he's so busy that I'm glad he could take the time to get here and get it fixed. Thankfully we have two more bathroom upstairs but it's hard for me to go up and down every time I need to use the bathroom. While I'm waiting I figured I'd pop on here and see what's going on. After my son leaves I have to return a phone call to a friend and I know that's going to be a marathon chat fest. We haven't talked in quite awhile so we have a lot to catch up on. Of course there's the every day chores that always need to be done but otherwise the day looks pretty uneventful. How's your Thursday going?

I know that I should be annoyed to have to go upstairs every time I need to use the toilet.

@Marilynda1225 - Only my right knee has some problems, it's the one I hit the two times I fell. Some days are worse than others, particularly when the humidity is high.

It would be bad enough if my knees didn't complain about the stairs.

I'm glad he can replace it. If it's the case here then I would have to wait for the plumber to fix it as per his convenience

Thankfully my son is a plumber and usually he'll make sure he has time to help his mama

I’m currently at the cardiologist waiting for the doctor. I fully expect him to come in, and tell me the echocardiogram and holter monitor indicated I am perfectly fine. I just wish it wasn’t so hot in this room! Thank goodness for your son! My toilet is currently on the fritz. I’m glad to hear he can at least fix yours for now.

Hope all goes well with your appointment. The toilet was an easy fix (something about a gasket) so he was in and out quicker than I expected. Didn't have time for a visit as he was already expected at another job.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, my appointment was fine. Just minor things I was aware of, come back in six months. I told my PCP that my weird blood pressure was nothing, and I'm vindicated! I appreciate his concern though.

We have the haze here, but nothing to get excited about. I need to replace one of my toilets. However, before that, there is a faucet I can stand that really needs to be replaced. It is crumbling.

The air quality here is on red alert. We're being advised to wear a mask if you have to be outside Thankfully my toilet was an easy fix and I felt bad he had to come here for such a simple thing..

Maybe if you did a rain dance the Great Spirit will hear you and send rain clouds.

I think maybe it would work if the million people affected did that rain dance

I had a busy day on Thursday. We had some system issues at work, and they were not communicating this to us, nor an ETA for a fix, so I decided to cut my day short. I finished at 1pm and stopped for a loaf of whole wheat bread, my hubby told me that they were out, and then over to our son's place. Between teething and a cold, the twins have had a difficult few days. So has Granddaddy and Mommy and Daddy. I offered to relieve him, but he confessed that they were a handful yesterday, so we spent the afternoon together. When our son finished work, I stayed on with him. When his wife finished, we asked her to have supper with us and then go to bed as we cared for the children. We had them down in bed after their baths about 20 minutes earlier than their usual time. Our son texted this morning that they slept all night long. I told him that I can take more time off from work today if needed, just to let me know if Granddaddy seems stressed out.

The 150-odd houses here all have the same toilet fittings and many are having trouble with them. I think the whole batch of toilet lids must have come from China as it's nearly impossible to get replacements of the right dimensions.

I wouldn't be able to do the steps every time I needed to use the bathroom. I'm glad we live in a ranch! I hope your son was able to fix the toilet. Hubs went to his follow-up appointment; and they prescribed another round of steroids. Hopefully they will do the trick. Have a great weekend.

Our area is the same. Smoky haze, air pollution warnings, and in desperate need of rain. I don't miss having stairs at all. Even my kids don't like them anymore. It's just nicer for everyone not to have to climb stairs.
