I can't believe I have this good news...

I don't mean to hype up my news because I didn't suddenly discover a cure for a disease, but I was excited when I got the news yesterday. Do you remember my discussion earlier this week about a prescription my doctor ordered for me, but I was told it would need a prior authorization? In all my 17 years on Medicaid I had never had a prior authorization approved, and it usually took weeks to a couple of months for them to even turn me down. To be clear, if this was a medication to save my life, they would have approved it. The medications I get turned down for are most often for migraines (have had them since I was 8) and depression (life long battle).
At this point in my rambling you've probably deduced my new prescription was approved! And much to my astonishment, it only took two days! So thank you for those who prayed about this with me. I'm hoping it helps get me back to being how I have been feeling in the past several years.
Any good news to share?

I don’t know if people realize how stressful it is on the humans when our pets get stressed by the storms. It’s an ordeal! And I am glad to hear the computer came back on; I would have been nervous about that too.
Are you talking about your social security check? Why is it late?

@AmbiePam it is a long story but to make it short my friend Nick downstairs with his family receives his SS check before me and about 2-3 days after him I get mine. He got his Saturday 3 I have not yet gotten mine so by calculation I should see it tomorrow But will I? now I am doubtful

I keep looking forward to more news on your babies. I so enjoyed it when a bird made a nest in the wreath by my dad's front door. After it happening two years in a row, it hasn't occurred in years. So it's a blessing to see it happen at your home.

For some reason, there is now a slew of people being told they have to have a pre-authorization for a prescription they have had for a long time. Happened to me, my son, 3 of my friends and some neighbors--all in the last 2 weeks. Just weird, why all at once like that?
I am glad you are going to get what you were prescribed. I hope it helps a lot!

My daughter and another friend had the same issue. It's like the insurance companies are wanting verification. It doesn't make sense at all. Especially if it is a medication that you've been taking for years and years!

if i may ask, what medications are you taking, Amber? your new prescription was approved, so is it means you can get your medications easily from now onwards? I have no experience with that so
and i am happy to hear good news from you. I hope you feel better.

Thank you for your good wishes.
While it doesn’t mean all of my prescriptions from now on will always be paid for, it does mean that I can get access to all the medications I need right now.
I don’t really feel comfortable listing all of my medications for all to see though, I’m sorry.
I can tell you what some of them are for, like: migraines, extreme depression, thyroid problems, back & neck pain and damage from a car accident, fibromyalgia, and a few other things I’ll not mention. And I so appreciate your support.

Glad your medications were approved so quickly but to be fair medication for depression can save a life sometimes depending on how severe. It always amuses me what insurance sometimes considers to be important and not important. At any rate miracles do happen and I'm glad to hear something great happened for you.

@AmbiePam The issue with insurance companies is they don't know about medications the way doctors do but they suddenly play doctor like they know you and what does and doesn't work for you. They don't really care about the person requiring the prescriptions they just care about money.

What a relief it must be for you. I am happy for you.
I have an issue with this guy who buys our coconuts but dealing with him is a pain and I think I have found an alternative.

I couldn’t believe it, after 17 straight nos. I do not understand why they do it to you either. Do you think our doctors give up too easily?
