Australia doesn't look right on this wall

Tonight was our last night at our house-sit so we went to the local tavern to celebrate. It was only about ten-minute drive from the house. I know I’ve written before about the copper map of the world that is on wall of the tavern. Australia is there but it’s a mirror image so Western Australia is actually on the east instead of on the west. We mentioned it to the owner of our house-sit but they hadn’t noticed it before. No doubt they’ll have a better look at it next time they visit. We had garlic bread as an entrée, then I had bruschetta for my mains and Vince had fish and chips. We can’t eat the big meals that we once used to.

It's pretty ordinary for sure. I think it's been distorted to fit the wall.

@BarBaraPrz And now I'll never look at it the same again.

I remember that you posted this image in the past. I am working in the family room and I have a VERY big world map on a wall, I see the difference.

@JudyEv I suppose they made a mistake and decided to let things as they were without correcting.

You would wonder how it could happen really but I guess they had their excuses.

That’s funny that they never noticed! I hope you guys enjoyed this house sitting spell. I certainly enjoyed hearing about it.

@JudyEv What makes you want to house sit so often? Just like a mini vacation?

We're home now but have another in July and certainly one in August, September and over Christmas. So no doubt there will be more stories to tell.

@AmbiePam We're not really used to city living and don't like it much but by house-sitting, we get out into the country. We're doing people a favour too and for us, it is a bit like a mini vacation. But now we're older we need to pick and choose a bit and not take on places that have more chores than we can comfortably manage.

I hope you and Vince enjoyed your time at that house-sit and have another one planned for the near future. Maybe the person who made that map thought Western Australians were a bit backward so made the country like that on purpose?

@JudyEv Oh, that always sucks when you have to be nice to other people.

The rest of Oz thinks we're a bit backward but that's okay. They have to be nice to us as we have the greatest mineral wealth of all the states.

@LindaOHio Not really. Some have gone to Bali to get away from the cold and there is a quiz night coming up in July that we'll probably go to.

Strange no one has told them about the geographic mishap. We had garlic bread with our chicken salad today. The copper map is lovely though.

I remember this image, you posted it a while back but I didn't get it, now I am going to check out a world map to see if I can tell the difference.

It's all a bit distorted but it's Australia that is totally wrong. They've inserted it as a mirror image so the west coast is actually on the east coast and vv.

We're going to Narrogin, our old home town, in July. We're just trying to get a final word on the dates.

It does look strange. I thought it was upside down, but I brought up a map of Australia. Yes, a mirror image.
