Another instant update.
The best laid plans of mice and hillbillies go awry. I was going to the Jersey Shore to see Adso and Charlie. (Oh, NJ Chic, too. 
)
About 4:30 this morning “the usual suspects” said”Oh no you’re not.” 
I was looking forward to seeing them, and taking the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel down to Virginia Beach.
Instead, I’m on my way home.
I’m not seriously ill or injured, I just overdid it yesterday. It wasn’t “that” hot but when you aren’t used to it, it can hit you.
And it did.
So the meeting that might change history will have to wait.
Bummer.
The photo is of the Shenandoah River. So all the pain today was worth it.

I'm sorry that you aren't feeling your best. Hopefully at some point, you will get to meet Adso and Charlie, and their personal slave, NJ Chicaa. I am sure you are all disappointed. Get some rest and feel better soon!

Thanks. It happens a lot when I travel. Usually I end up back in physical therapy. I’m just disappointed because I don’t get to see two friends (one who lives in Trenton NJ and NJ Chic).
On a positive note, the military can stand down since Jill and I won’t be able to get together.

Today’s headlines would have been a lot more interesting. Instead of so much Donald, the news could have been something to the effect of ‘’ The four walls and Chicaa-boom cause a riot of hilarity on the Jersey Shore!’

It happens all the time. When I was in Florida in February April and I couldn’t meet up because her mother-in-law was ill. This time, I’m the one feeling bad. Doo doo happens. So I’ll make plans for the Jersey Shore later.

I'm sorry your meeting got side-lined... I hope you feel better quickly.
We went out for a little bit earlier and it's HOT! The temp gauge says 83F but the RealFeel is 102F... Too hot for me!

It really didn’t “feel” that bad yesterday at all. It was last night (or the middle of the night, to be more precise) when it hit me. Same thing happened when I walked around Devils Tower in Wyoming…didn’t feel it until later, but when I did an ambulance was called.

@FourWalls I understand. When I got lost in the Mojave desert years ago, I felt okay until an ambulance took me to the ER. I suffered from heat stroke, heat exhaustion and sun stroke, according to the ER doctors. I was in the hospital for over a week before they released me.

I certainly hope so! I had a great time planned (not to mention being able to taste some of the food she taunts us with on here), with her and a friend in Trenton, NJ. Things happen for a reason, and I’ll just plan to do a meeting next time I head in this direction.

That is a beautiful photo. I agree we have miserable heat here and I just sit in front of my big fan. I hope you get home safe and that you feel much better.

No, I’m relaxing in a hotel bed right now. I drove a little over 100 miles yesterday, taking it very easy.
