Cinnamon toast

Just made a bedtime snack I haven't had in a while. I call it cinnamon toast, but there are probably lots of different ways to make it.
I use white loaf bread, spread some soft butter on the top side, sprinkle brown sugar on it, then add lots of cinnamon.
I bake it in the toaster oven until the butter and sugar have melted and the bread is toasted.
It is so fattening, but soooo good!
Too much sugar, that's why I don't make it very often. It's a comfy memory from my childhood, though.
Do you ever make cinnamon toast?

Oh, goodness does that sound good. I don’t remember eating that much as a child because my mom was always so conscious of health (because her mother was NOT). I think I recall her making it once when we weren’t feeling well. A little indulgence never hurts.

@1creekgirl - I do my best, I know that I cannot resist to eat food I like and I do not want that he is tempted to eat.

@1creekgirl it's comfort food and easy on the stomach. I haven't had breakfast yet this morning and maybe I should make some.

@LindaOHio Glad you're having a bit of relief today.
I guess I have a little bug for a couple of days. Mostly a bad headache and just feeling yucky. That's a technical medical term, right?

My daughter and I like cinnamon toast as well, especially with a hot drink--and it's nice on a cold snowy day with some hot chocolate, too.

@MarieCoyle Doesn't the sugar fall off in a regular toaster?

We do not eat plain white bread. We use wheat or potato bread or whole grain...toast the bread, add butter, then cinnamon, then sugar. We do not use the toaster oven. Just the regular toaster.

I have memories of getting myself breakfast on a Saturday morning and making slice after slice of white toast smearing it with butter and then sprinkling sugar on top. Not something I would have gotten away with if my mother had been in the room!
