Chalked Up a Pretty Productive Day

Some days you just really feel like you accomplished something. And today was one of those days for me. I feel like it was pretty productive. Wrote another article for HubPages this morning, which was something I was wanting to get accomplished since last week I intended to, but other things just got in the way of that. Took my mom to her bank as she had some things she wanted to do there and also took her to Aldi so she could get some groceries. It's not that she can't drive, but with the dementia still a factor, she gets confused. She's close to losing the car anyway, although the decision has not been fully made yet. I think she should lose it, but my sister has power of attorney over such matters. The dementia is not advanced yet. I have power of attorney over financials, which seems appropriate considering I have managed her finances for better than 20 years. I also managed to do another mulching of the leaves, and the trees look like they may be done soon, so once I do the law mulch I will overseed both the front of back yards. I could do the back yard since I don't have to mulch back there. But I'd rather just do both at the same time. I put together a spinach lasagna as well and put it in the refrigerator so all I have to do tonight when I am ready to cook it is throw it in the oven. Has your day been productive?

I'm glad you took your mother on her errands. I'm so sorry she has dementia. My husband had an episode of being confused on the road about a month ago; and it scared me. Spinach lasagna sounds good. Yesterday I had a Focus Group for $$$; so it was pretty productive. Have a great day.

@porwest Hubs has pulled into the wrong lane twice when I was with him. About a month ago he called me because he couldn't remember how to get to an exit that he's been to dozens of times. That really scared me.

@LindaOHio Yeah. I agree. That's scary. It's funny to me. I am only 50. But night driving is already starting to bother me. Is that a thing with getting old?

Yeah, mom is beginning to make some alarming mistakes on the road. I mean, we only know about them because she tells us about them. Not that she is direct. Like the other day she said someone was honking like a crazy person at her and my sister started to ask questions and finally got down to she had pulled out of a parking lot on the wrong side of the median and was headed into oncoming traffic, which was why she was being honked at. Spinach lasagna was delicious.

Is that one of your .0825 eggs ? Nice you help your mom out that way. My mother in law got out of our driveway and hit our neighbor's car across the street . . . it was then that my sister in law decided she can't be driving anymore - too many little accidents. I'm actually behind today - ended up chatting on the phone with a friend for 2 hours and I NEVER do that - tomorrow I'll make it a super productive day.

There are some people over the years I have known that simply can't drive. No sooner they get a new car it's dented. I keep a good distance from people like that and NEVER let them park in my driveway. lol

Ever since I had the spinach version I hardly ever have the meat version anymore. Obviously the meat is substituted with the spinach. I use provolone instead of mozzarella, and ricotta instead of cottage cheese. It's delicious. We had poor man's garlic bread on the side.

@porwest I need to be enlightened as to 'poor man's garlic'.

You had a very productive day. What did you write about on HubPages? Don’t remember the last time I published something there. Been many years.

@porwest Too many frugals in one sentence lol. Maybe they think they are frugal by whatever definition they choose for the term.

@porwest I face the same challenges having to work with surveys to make money as well even though sometimes I do not want to complete them.

Speaking of surveys I need to work on a couple. I am a bit down this month on doing those. It's a chore for me, though. I hate doing them but can't pass up the money they offer.

Glad you got somethings done, always feels good to get things done. I on the other hand other and taking some meds for the migraine I woke up with and sleeping, have got nothing done. The upside is the migraine went away so there is that.

@porwest Yeah, they are not fun at all. Sometimes my migraines are so bad I vomit from the pain. Not what I would call a good time.

At least it went away. I don't often suffer headaches, and certainly not migraines. But when I do, I just hate them. They start to make me nauseous.

I liked days when I can get something done. I mean, not that there is never time to relax, right? But getting something done is always rewarding in one way or another.

Not really. One website I do some tasks on wasn't working. But I did some other tasks instead. I also worked on my best friend's diamond painting.

Some days are like that. You have good intentions but they don't always pan out the way you would prefer.

Your day was productive. I'm glad you were able to take your Mom to the bank and store. Losing the car wouldn't be a bad thing. When Mike's Dad began forgetting how to get home, Mom began driving them where they needed to go. He fought us on giving up driving but then the DMV took his license when he failed the test to renew his drivers license. They gave him one as a id only. After that he was resigned to not driving again. My day was semi productive. I got the laundry done, and cooked supper. I could have done some housework but wasn't in the mood to.

I can imagine a car is your last bit of independence. I can't imagine losing it myself, but I am sure there will come a time. It happens to nearly everyone that eventually they just can't drive anymore.

I showed up to work and did my job. I did an hour of virtual instruction. I washed my comforter since one of the cats puked on it.

It's Tuesday afternoon here. I would say I had a productive morning. I went to two banks to sort out something. Also had a haircut.
