Being Thankful

Happy Tuesday Everyone! it's chilly and rainy here today. Definitely a stay-at-home day for me.
Thanksgiving is in two days so I'm going to make a few phone calls today (first to my Aunt & Uncle and then my friend that loves to talk to hours 
) I'm grateful that I have these people in my life and with Thanksgiving only a few days away I want to reach out and let them know how much I appreciate them.
Today is my son in laws birthday but we'll be adding his birthday celebrating on Thanksgiving. He's working and I already sent him his birthday wishes via text earlier this morning.
Otherwise it's a routine day.
Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, there's no better time to say how grateful I am for all the friends I've made here. 
) I'm grateful that I have these people in my life and with Thanksgiving only a few days away I want to reach out and let them know how much I appreciate them.

Thank you Marilyn, we are grateful for you too! I think I will send a Thanksgiving greeting to my Aunt and Uncle too. The like texts, a nice one with a GIF would be good.

Happy birthday to your son in law. We do not celebrate Thanksgiviing here. We show our appreciation during some of the traditional Chinese festivals.

It's rainy and nasty this morning here, too. I'm just glad it isn't cold enough yet for snow or ice. I'm hoping the rain stops before the temp drops below freezing this afternoon.
We still have a couple of things we missed picking up a couple of days ago so need to make a run to the grocery store today. I'm also still missing one of my BP meds that Walmart pharmacy said was ready two days ago... I ran out this morning.
The RSV vaccination I was supposed to get at Wally World I wasn't able to get it. The pharmacist says I need my doctor's prescription before I can get it. My doctor sent the prescription and Walmart sent a text saying it was ready. When I got there, the pharmacist said my doctor still hadn't approved it... I tried to call my doctor but she was busy with another patient... The nurse tried to tell the pharmacist that the prescription had already been sent to Walmart but the pharmacist said he couldn't accept the nurse's verification on it... *sigh*
I don't think Walmart will send a second text telling me to go get the shot so I'll have to go to the pharmacy every time we go to Walmart to see if they're willing to give me the shot yet.
I'm glad for the friends I've made on myLot, too.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks. It really is a pain in the patoot... Walmart is using a new AI system for their pharmacy and it's not very good... It has effectively lost two of my prescriptions and I had to get the allergy doctor to send those again... The AI is very strict about the timing of medications... if the doctor only orders a 30 day supply, then you can't get a pill to fill that gap. *sigh* Before, I could just go in and tell the pharmacist that I had already run out and they'd refill my prescriptions a day early or even a week early if I was going on a trip. The AI won't allow that.

I definitely agree... I feel closer to many of the people on myLot than I do to my family.

@DaddyEvil that certainly does sound frustrating especially since there's no leeway with an AI. I still deal with people at my pharmacy and so far haven't run across any problems getting a pill a day early, etc.
MyLot has really brought a lot of joy and fun to my life. I love your sense of humor and getting to know you

that sounds like such a hassle between your doctor and Walmart. I hope it gets sorted out and you can get the shot soon as well as getting your BP meds.

Making those calls to your Aunt & Uncle and your talkative friend is such a heartwarming idea. The anticipation of Thanksgiving and reaching out to express gratitude is truly special. Also, happy birthday to your son-in-law!

I got to talk to my Aunt & Uncle (they're in their 90s) but my friend wasn't home so I just let a message on her voicemail.
I love Thanksgiving and having the family together. Turkey is usually what the whole meal revolves around but I enjoy all the side dishes more since we don't have them year round.

We had so much wind and rain yesterday but today it's just cloudy an chilly. Hopefully tomorrow will be nice for Thanksgiving.

@Marilynda1225 Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I don't know how much I will be here tomorrow. Between Thanksgiving preparation, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Packers Lions game, and eating when it's over, I have no idea when I'll be here except EARLY in the morning.

Thanks for asking Ocean. My back is 85% better thankfully. I should be back to 100% and ready to go to my daughters for Thanksgiving.
It's pretty cold here today and we'll barely get out of the 40s
