Have a Blessed Day

Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I am wishing all of you a safe blessed day. I had to visit the Urgent care last night but better today. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving the way many families do. My son, grandkids and I are headed to the Tri-cities to eat out. Most likely, we'll have burgers or something similar. The rest of my family is out-of-state. Years ago, family would all cook and gather and seemed so much work and very little relaxing. At least for the women. I no longer want to do that. Turkey and ham are not favorites either. Sandwiches with mayo and turkey are still good but I don't want all the other stuff. Never been big on cranberry sauce, stuffing, yams and green bean casserole. One year I made tacos and everyone wanted to eat at my house. Whatever you do, whatever you eat, be safe, be blessed and enjoy your day.

It doesn't matter the food, it matters to remember to be thankful and being with the ones you love. Glad that you are feeling better now. Happy Thanksgiving.

@just4him The nearest one is about 30 minutes away. This is the first one I've eaten at in WA. When I'm in OR, I go at least once. Mostly like to do breakfast.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving the way you like. I agree that women's place is not only in the kitchen.

I agree! Thanksgiving is how you like and not what society thinks.

@aninditasen Yes, women need to make the changes. So many still expect too much from them.

@noni1959 Changes in the society has to be brought by us, especially the women.

It doesn't matter what you eat, just that you had a good day. I am sorry to read you had to go to urgent care. I hope you feel better very soon, Loretta.

Company is what matters. Thank you for your thoughts. I wound up in the hospital over it but hopefully now on the mend.

We were home together and had a simple meal we prepared together, a smoked salmon quiche. Non traditional, but good. I do the cranberry sauce and will make it year around if I can get the berries.

A smoked salmon quiche sounds good. Traditions are what families make and not follow the masses. I love doing something easy and enjoyable so can spend quality time.

Happy Thanksgiving. We didn't either. Actually ate at Denny's where I decided on Chicken Fried steak and a salad. It was nice.

Thank you. I wound up in the hospital yesterday over it. Going to be a long healing process but learned to stop being so stubborn. Chocolate sounds so good!

I remember Christmas and New Year as being incredibly tiring and stressful for the women in my family. Surely such days should be about EVERYONE relaxing and enjoying the occasion. Have a great time.
