Thanksgiving dinner: special or so so?

I know some of you guys don't celebrate Thanksgiving in your country. We celebrated last Saturday with our son and grandson which was really nice. Today Dale and I fried some filleted trout, corn bread, and fried potatoes. Yummy! Our daughter Tammy, her husband, and their 14 year old Landon went on their annual Thanksgiving cruise last Sunday and coming back this coming Sunday. And not a moment too soon. Jay and Landon have the flu, but Tammy so far doesn't have it. But she's been taking care of them while they're quarantined and no one's gotten any sleep. I pray they'll be well soon. This cruise has been a nightmare. We're going to our neighbors' wedding Saturday night at a nearby stable (or equine center?) I'm assuming the dress code will be casual. Hope it's not too awfully cold that night.

Oh, no, the flu? Those poor souls must have been going through it! I hope when all is said and done, Tammy won’t have had any kind of flu symptoms touch her. Our family’s Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and boy am I looking forward to it! I can’t wait to hug those kids, and joke around with my brother-in-law. I have some pre Christmas goodies for my sister as well. Plus, the kids will get their advent calendars. The wedding Saturday sounds kind of magical! I look forward to hearing about it!

I pray your celebration tomorrow will be filled with love and laughter...so many blessings from God. Let us know how it all goes and give those sweet babies a hug for me.

I loved the cruise we went on but so many of them seem to have a lot of problems. We did have a gastro bug on ours which spoilt it a bit.

I'm sure that was a bummer. The first (and so far only) cruise we went on was fun, but I got really sick right after.

Thanksgiving was nice for me. Of course it would have been better if my son, and younger nephew would have been there, but such is life. Bad to be sick for the holidays.

I know you missed having your son and nephew there. Just got a text from our daughter. They're off the boat, but she's really sick now and headed to urgent care.

I am sorry that Jay and Landon have the flu, I have read that there are many sick with the flu right now. If the wedding is at the stable, I also assume the dress code will be casual.

@LadyDuck I appreciate that. I don't have many long sleeve tops and it's turned really cold. Well, the temp isn't so bad, but the wind is awfully cold. I found a pretty long sleeve top in my closet that will have to do.

That's what I'm hoping. I'll just wear some slacks and a nice top.

Wow. Having the flu on an expensive cruise. Poor folks. We've had a sweet low key day.

@1creekgirl Agreed. Our holidays are generally quiet due to family not being near. I am hoping that one of my sisters will take the train down to see me during the Christmas season.

That has to be the worse, getting sick while on vacation. Hope they feel better soon. Our family get together was really nice. Met our sis in laws two grown children for the first time. They were really nice. Enjoy your neighbor's wedding on Saturday.

It's not a wedding I'm especially looking forward to, but since they're our neighbors, we feel obligated. Never hurts to build some good will with neighbors.
