What's your favorite board game? We played Trivial Pursuit last night!

I think I made the hostess mad last night. We played a sort of "Socialistic" version of Trivial Pursuit. We played it "normal," except that we all gave each other hints. Big Hints. Very big hints. I was the worst. One of my friend's sisters grew up in South Africa and now lives in Germany. She is visiting for a month. She might not know as much about American political stuff as those of us who have been here longer. When the question was "What Fleetwood Mac song was Bill Clinton's campaign song," or something like that, she asked me to hum it. I did, and she got a pie. Whee! (No spoler. Can you guess what song it is?) I think the hostess, who was in a competitive mood, was getting tired of my Very Big Hints. But we still had a good time. Have you played Trivial Pursuit? What was your favorite board game growing up? In my family, we played Monopoly over the years. I was competitive in those days, and loved vanquishing people with my oranges and yellows if I could get them. Buwaahaahaa! How was your Thursday? Did you have a favorite board game growing up?

I couldn't stand Monopoly but Vince loves it and is very competitive. He gets totally involved. I played checkers and draughts as a kid but they are very 'old hat' compared to some of today's board games.

Trivial Pursuit was always my favorite game because I beat every family member at it. But all that means is that I remember every unimportant thing there is. Did they want that vinaigrette salad dressing after all?

We have something called antakshari. I don't know if you all have. The word at which the song's first two lines end, the other person has to start a song on that word. That was fun. Not a board game, but kinda, when we are traveling and we want the whole group to be playing, it works. Likewise, there is word spelling. The letter at the end of the word ..the next person must come up with a word. Rules are there..kinda, I can say win, then winning is not allowed. Evil Grin. Tougher ones were change the topic. You have to be very knowledgeable for that. And quick to recall. Likewise, memory game. They initially put 10 or 20 items on bed ..you get two minutes to watch and go and list out. They change a few of the items. Repeat. By the time we reach 6th list, it is difficult to remember what was there or not because some of the old items are brought back.

@TheHorse .........Most good writers have large vocabularies. This game would help accomplish that.

I often played Trivial Pursuit back in the day. We were very competitive. One of my favorite board games besides Trivial Pursuit was Risk. Conquering countries and continents.

Trivial Pursuit has always been my favorite, I found a Monopoly version online I like but my PC plays it very slow. Then I also play online against the PC backgammon, Yahtzee, and Hearts.
