Where would your ideal place be to spend Christmas?

Well, in a perfect world, my mom would be alive, and with us for Christmas, but I am very happy with who I have here on earth with me. My ideal place would be for everyone to come to my dad’s house for Christmas, but I still enjoy seeing the extended family about 2 and a half hours away in Tulsa. On Christmas Day, unless it is a Sunday (then we gather on Monday), all of those on my dad’s side of the family gather and have a Christmas get together. A few hours later when it is over, my dad, stepmom, and me drive 30 minutes to my sister’s house, and open presents we got each other. It’s always fun to spend one on one time with the children. *The photo is of a Nativity scene snow globe I have that plays what sounds like an old time choir singing “Silent Night.

It looks very nice. And those sound like nice plans for Christmas I think. Mine would be to spend it with all the family like we used to when my great-grandma was alive. Now that I have lost all my grandparents it will be a much smaller Christmas.

Yes, it feels weird to me still, not to have any grandparents left. For you, it is so fresh too.

@AmbiePam I am sorry that you don't have any grandparents left either. Yes, very fresh for me...still in shock even though it's almost been a month

Ideally, both my Mom and Dad would be here, and we'd still be in the house on Garfield Drive. Your snow globe reminded me of a lantern I have that is solar powered. When it gets dark it lights up and shows the Holy family in the glass. I need to figure out where it is.

Oh, how cool! I had this given to me, and I liked the old lantern feel.

I am like you, in a perfect world, my dear ole Dad would still be alive to spend the day with. And anywhere would be ideal, just to be with him, hear his voice, see his smile, get 'that' look that he always gave to me which meant volumes and hear his big booming laughter. But I have those memories. Instead anywhere that my family is is exactly where I would love to spend Christmas. The memories are very recent from the years of the lockdown when we could not gather, hopefully that does not happen again.

Oh, no, we definitely can’t take another quarantine. A lot of people pray we won’t have to encounter that again.

@AmbiePam As do I, and I am grateful for every live encounter that I can enjoy since then.

This snow globe is so pretty. This sound a nice way to spend Christmas. I loved when my parents were still alive and we all joined them in their apartment to have the Christmas lunch together and to open the presents.

I love snow globes and yours is really nice and extra special that it plays Silent Night. Christmas would be wonderful if those who have passed were still here to enjoy it with us. Christmas is a happy time for me. Everyone comes here and it's a day of making memories. I wish, though, that I could go back in time to just one Christmas when my kids were little and see the awe when they woke up on Christmas morning knowing Santa had arrived. Those days were magical..

That's great that you have family to spend the holidays with. I would like to be in the Florida Keys for the holidays...far from the cold and s**w...with my hubby. Love the snow globe. Have a great day.

Thank you, Linda. I should have remembered how much you like the Florida Keys. No S word down there.

My ideal Christmas would be to spend it with our two boys. Just the four of us would be fine but I can't see it ever happening. But that's okay. There is always Zoom and we are all good friends. Some families are much worse off than I am.

I still understand wanting to have that again, just the four of you. Those were special times.

I don't have an ideal place, but I would like to live in another country where it's warmer.
