It's been an aggravating morning start. I knew last night my lights didn't come on out back. When I fed the barn cats this morning I seen why. My cord had shorted out and melted bad. Why the breaker didn't trip I don't know. But that meant the fountain in the fish pond wasn't on. I got a different cord and everything is back on now. Hubby is working on the melted cord now.
Hopefully the rest of the day will be calmer. I didn't need to be working before breakfast. I do still plan to clean the freezer today. Then if hubby has a football game I will be in my escape room.
Hope you have a good day.

@wolfgirl569 I am glad, the temperature is cold, but we do not have thick ice on the pond for the moment.

@LadyDuck The pump spraying water helps with that too when it is cold enough

They were fine. I just don't like to be with the pump long during the winter. In the summer it has plenty of plants

I had a heck of a morning myself. I think the last screw Tish had fell out. She was practically binging off the walls and could not settle down. For a moment she ran into the closet and then there was about half an hour of peace. Then she was jumping on the back of my PC chair and back down. Skidded across the table and knocked off a dish. Presently the darling is sleeping on a shelf with her head hanging down. She is lucky I did not hang her

I hope you have a good beginning to the new week,

You’ll be working in the freezer and he’ll be watching guys playing in the freezer.
I’m going home after lunch to recover from being out last night.

Everything was laying outside thankfully or it might have been. At least right now I have no critters in the barn. Think the rain might have been heavy enough to puddle around it even though it was an outdoor cord. It could have been getting old

It was outside. Think that downpour last night might have puddled around it. It was an outdoor cord but getting old

It seems to always be something. Things can't just go smoothly. It would be too much for the cosmos to just let it be.
Glad you got it al fixed.

They are. It wasn't long enough to run out of air as it's a good sized pond.

You lucked out! PG&E had one of their high voltage wires over load and it went down the wire to my home, melted both breaker boxes and burned my home to the ground. There could be something else wrong with the cord that shorted out, so I would be very very careful with it. You don't want a hectic day like I had October 2, 2017. I remember freaking out, trying to break past 5 burly firemen to get to my animals and save them and their having a horrible time trying to hold me back. Two fire captains came into the mix and explained to me that the animals were gone and couldn't be saved, and they still had to hold me back. I'm sure it wasn't a pretty sight.
Please make sure that you thoroughly check out the cord that shorted out before you use it again. We do things with electricity and don't stop to think about the consequences.
Tons of hugs, Toni, Petey and Freya.
P.S. I hate living in town, I tolerate it because it's my only option.

I have a different cord now and hubby fixed the other one. The plug part we think got wet as it was laying outside and we had those heavy downpours that night. I found a longer cord that went all the way inside so it is better protected. This was an outdoor cord but had been there a long time
