I was prepared to do it

I was going to start a new job tomorrow, but when I read a detailed report about the client, I decided it was not for me. I let them know by e mail.
I told them to begin with that I did not want to work with someone who would hurt me.
I have had two examples now of how they do not pay attention to what I tell them.
And just letting me know about the client about 28 hrs before I would meet her just was not cool.
So you will still be seeing me around a decent amount.
Back to school tomorrow.

They were not even offering proper training. Yes, I did get the book learning I needed, but I needed more than that.

@sallypup I have worked with people with these disabilities, but I felt I needed support in learning the company procedures.

@GardenGerty Hands on and real life is what a person needs when it comes to the helper professions.

I agree. Never be with someone who will try to hurt you

We have students who can be aggressive even in our program in our school, but we have teams to manage the behavior. I do have scars from biting and pinching, but it is okay because I was given tools to help with that. I guess I should not say it is okay but it is manageable.

It would have been different if there had been an actual team present locally to transition in with.

I was just not certain I could work for her and be safe both from her and with her.

Wow, I’m glad you’re on the ball. I’ve worked for temp agencies that apparently didn’t hear a word I said when I applied. You must have the same people.

This is not even a team agency. They are trying to set up long term care for this client, but everything they do seems to be done by video.

If they had been set up with an in person team to start her, it would have been okay. Not just one person. Like all other jobs, I am sure they are having a hard time filling positions.

It is a job that needs to be accommodated, but it needs a team approach and good communication.

That is good that you don't let them treat you badly. Demand respect.

The client needs services, however the agency is not acting professionally in my opinion.

@celticeagle It is like they are trying to break into the market because insurance will pay for it.

We have similar behaviors on occasion at school but we have a trained team that deals with those problems.

If I had actually started I would have been locked in for thirty days due to contracts. I am glad I did not actually start.

Much of my life I have worked with or around people who would /might hurt me. Usually we had a team working with that person. School was good. We have a good team.

I had signed an agreement that if I had started I could not quit or change clients for 30 days. SO I did not start.
