It took entirely too much time and energy

This evening I tried to set up a new phone. Some of it is done. Some of it is not.
It made me really crazy. And for a while I lost access to Google, because the password I was trying to use on the phone was not correct. I was going to use 2 step verification but I could not get the code on my phone because the old phone was de activated and the new one was not activated.
We may, or may not get bad weather overnight. Right now I am reading that we will have rain after 3 a.m.
Let's just say I have been running down the rabbit hole of technology and leave it at that.

I checked online for what I needed and it was better than going through my carrier, Tracfone.

@just4him Now it is just a matter of learning to use a newer phone.

That's crazy, that's why I don't have a cell phone cause they have
gotten too techky for me to deal with, hubby does, but I made it
where it's JUST a phone with no internet to deal with on it.

I do okay most of the time, and at some point I may get a phone that I can have a human help me with.

I may be able, if I need further help, to get my young coworker to help.

I will be setting up my Tracfone soon. My grandson already did my daughter's for her. Take about twenty minutes to get it all set up. Ours goes quite easily. Why was the old one deactivated before the new one was activated?

Only the calling part was deactivated, that was one of the steps I was told to take. I suspect that because I am changing brands of phones is why things were not as smooth as the last time. In the past it has all been easy peasey.

@celticeagle Tracfone is all we have ever had. I am going from an LG phone to a Motorola. It could also be because it is a much newer phone.

@GardenGerty .......That's probably true. I have had a good experience with my Tracfones and won't be doing busy elsewhere unless that changes.

I got it all done that I can do. It is different from my old phone and it makes me a bit grumpy. The last thing that needs done is the IT guy for the district needs to make it recognize my phone so I can clock in and out.

There are things I really do not understand. I may have to ask a younger person at work.

I still am clocking in on my old phone, until I can get the district IT person to put the new phone on the system. One reason I updated is because the old phone was struggling with the update to the time keeping app.

It is not lot of fun to set up new tech. I never got all the apps transferred from my old phone to the new one, but at least most of them are there.

Part of my problem is that I do not take the time to sit down and pay attention and get it all done.

@RebeccasFarm Taking weather days off is forcing me to do some sitting still.

The final thing I need is to get the school IT to put my phone in the system so I can clock in and out on it. I can still do that on my old phone for now, but I would like to stop carrying two phones.

The new technology is sometimes mind-boggling. Good luck. Have a good week.

New phones can be a nightmare. My kids bought me a new phone last year, but I must admit for the most part, all of the info was transferred by AT&T and I didn't have to do much. I had my oldest son program it to my car panel so I wouldn't mess it up. I'm good with computers and such, but some of those phones are just not user-friendly to set up at all.

If I went to an actual store for a big name carrier, I am sure they would help me. We no longer have Tracfone representatives in the stores.

That's too bad, I'm sure it would be helpful to have someone available to help people.
