Tea for Texas, Tea for Tennessee….

This afternoon Heather (@GardenGerty ) posted a discussion about having a cup of tea. Hey, that’s right up my alley!
There’s something relaxing about tea. Maybe it’s American “mentality,” where we associate drinking coffee with getting up, getting ready for work, going to work, drinking it at work, etc. Having hot tea, on the other hand, is thought of as a “put your feet up and relax” thing.
Well, not for me. I don’t drink coffee (love the aroma, can’t stand the taste…go figure). However, there is something special about tea.
So, since Heather showed off her lovely tea mug, I thought I would likewise show off mine!
This lovely floral print tea cup came from my co-workers, a retirement gift. The inscription on the inside of the mug is “Right now is a beautiful thing.”
This afternoon I had some Lemon Lift tea from Bigelow. Tonight, it’s the banana chocolate from The Republic of Tea. And I’m singing Jimmie Rodgers’ “Blue Yodel #1 (T for Texas)” as ”Tea for Texas, tea for Tennessee.”
I hope you have a warm, relaxing, nice-cup-of-tea evening!

I love drinking tea, and will have a cup of coffee at "Tea Time". What's really fun is that my Siamese, Freya, has a taste for tea too. She will get up on the arm of my chair, pat my tea cup, and stick her nose in my tea and have a nice long drink of tea. The company I have drop by gets a huge kick out of seeing her getting a drink of tea out of my cup. It isn't normal for a cat to enjoy tea that much, and she usually does it every day.
She enjoys Lipton tea, but also enjoys coconut tea too. I don't add milk to it, nor sugar. She likes her tea plain like I like mine.

My "Tea Cup" is a Starbucks mermaid mug that my husband gave me. It's the only one that I will use.

Bruno lived with my sister before she passed. She drank Crystal Light Peach Tea from a big (44 oz.) cup and he would stick his head clear in to drink it with her. He will spill any drink he can find here at my house.

I have some coconut chocolate tea I got from the Republic of Tea. It’s amazing.
It’s funny how we gravitate toward one “favorite” mug, isn’t it! I actually cleaned my regular cups, which is why I have the “fancy” one out tonight.

I’ll try just about any kind once. Most of the time I’m drinking herbal or decaf at night to make sure I’m not bouncing off the walls at 3 AM (even though tea has less than half the caffeine of coffee).

@FourWalls But something about caffeinated tea keeps me awake more than coffee. Love them all, though.

@GardenGerty — maybe we think that, since tea isn’t as caffeinated as coffee, we can drink more!

I knew I was familiar with lemon lift. I try to not do too much caffeine other than my two cups of coffee. I like a couple of peach teas. One is Country Peach and the other is Peach Ginger and Turmeric, I believe. So relaxing.

I know Celestial Seasonings has a peach tea (herbal) that’s wonderful, especially cold in the summer!

A lot of people in America drink hot tea when they’re sick as well. In the southern US, sweet iced tea is the drink.

@LadyDuck — well, sugarcane is an important crop in the south, so they use A LOT of sugar to keep the industry strong.

Mike is drinking some raspberry tea now. We thought we would try a fruity tea. We both think it's okay but probably won't get it again.
We like the spice flavor teas, bengal spice being our favorite. Vanilla, chamomile and honey a close second and another spice blend (can't think of its name right at this moment.) is our third favorite.
Love your mug and the inscription

Bigelow used to make chocolate and caramel chai teas. The caramel was very good. I love licorice tea when my throat is sore.
This mug is the antithesis of my Marvin the Martian “where’s the ka-boom??” mug.

I’ve pretty much stopped drinking sodas, save to get my big pills down. You have a good one as well.

I drink coffee occasionally. I will have tea regularly in the morning. My husband makes awesome ginger tea.

I always do enjoy it! I think the tea mug is almost “too pretty” to use regularly.
