Well, it kinda is but it sure ain't about anything my pa would have wanted to hear about, he was totally straight laced except for his love of bourbon and beer. Ok, I don't usually like country songs all that much but this one is a crack up. I hope you'll give it a listen and tell me what you think.

That's a great song. Love the ending. Country folk aren't as stupid as some city folk think they are.

Actually, country folk are a whole lot smarter in many ways that really matter.

@rebelann That's very true but you meet that attitude quite a lot.

I saw Jim Stafford about five times in Branson, Missouri as a child and teen (my dad loved him). This is one of the best he does/did, you’re right.

@rebelann You know his song about Cow Patti(es)? He would throw out these squishy discs that were soaked with water into the audience. One time my dad caught one, and I kept it. This is it, and I keep it on my fridge. It brings back such great memories.

I grew up with that song (the Don Bowman version). In hindsight, I’m shocked it was released in 1964 without any complaints!

Yes, he did that with Dolly Parton on one of the variety shows back in the 70s.

He was pretty popular in the southern states back in the early 1970s ....... I think some singers were trying to put some humor into the sadness of the times back then, the Vietnam war was getting to so many back then.

@rebelann I never heard that tune you posted. Very funny! That kind of humor is hard to find today.

I've never heard it expressed that way. LSD is what's trippy.
