Taco Tuesday

I was treated to a nice surprise when my daughter got home from work this evening, as she was really in the mood for Mexican food, so she offered to treat if I would go with her to the little mom and pop Mexican restaurant right around the corner from where we live.
I normally have steak suissas at this particular restaurant, but as I was glancing at the menu I realized it was Tuesday and that could only mean one thing...TACOS! So, I decide to venture off my normal Mexican staple and enjoy me a little Taco Tuesday. But instead of regular beef tacos, I went for the shrimp and scallop tacos. And boy did they hit the spot! One of the great things about living in Florida is that there is always fresh seafood around, even when eating Mexican!
Anybody else have tacos tonight in honor of Taco Tuesday? Or, if not, what delicious delicacies did you make tonight?

They look like burritos, but filled with steak and cheese, and topped with guacamole and sour cream and pesto sauce.

I'm sure they were delicious! I love fish tacos. We have a taco food truck that sets up everyday in our parking lot at work, and they make the best fish tacos anywhere around.

I'm glad the shrimp and scallop taco hit the spot for Taco Tuesday.
Last night was Writer's Guild at the restaurant. I went hungry and enjoyed a loaded mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries and fried cheese curds.

@JudyEv With Florida being surrounded on three sides by the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, we have an abundance of local fishing industries. We don’t have to rely on foreign fishing fleets and imported seafood. Sure, those are part of our overall fishing industry in a nation as large as ours, but at least where I live we get fresh, local seafood at reasonable prices.

@moffittjc Actually it was a silly comment of mine. We're just too lazy to drive to the outlets. Much of the fish in our supermarkets is from Indonesia or other offshore places. And all seafood is very expensive at the moment. We'll be dining in a pub right on the coast next Monday so I might get me some local fish then.

That sounds good, especially with the fresh seafood. We ate leftovers last night as I am too ill to go out.Probably my gut would not enjoy Mexican food right now.

Tonight is going to be a mismatch type of dinner for me, since the girls are both working late tonight. I'll just rummage around in the fridge and freezer and see what I have and what concoction I can make.

There is a place in the small city my hubby used to work in called Jalapeno's that he used to love going to for lunch. On Tuesdays, they celebrate Taco Tuesday with an All You Can Eat Taco dinner.
We have got to go one night!! I keep forgetting about that place!

It sure was. Thankfully, I didn’t make me anything to eat when I got home, about 2 hours before her. I had snacked on a few things, but I still had a good hearty appetite when she got home and suggested we go out to eat.

I made a big pot of venison veggie soup. Having leftovers day after tomorrow and frying some shrimp with fried taters and cornbread tomorrow. It's too cold to even go out.
