Just got word my uncle is very close to death

Unfortunately, they are choosing not to have a funeral service. I wish I could go up to be with the family..but I don't think anything is planned. I last spent time with him when my older nephew graduated from college..several years ago now. We were sitting together at the grad party. I am sure my mother is heartbroken. He was her only sibling. At least this was not out of the blue, so we have had some time to prepare emotionally. He was always sis and I's favorite uncle..Funny and playful with a big laugh, he was great to be around.

It is hard. They also want a ridiculous amount of money to put the obit in the main paper. They are opting for a community one instead.

Yes, it will be hard for her. I am certain losing a sibling has to be very painful.Although it isn't the same in all families..in most your shared experience makes you feel close.

Yes, it makes you long for them. The only good thing is my aunt won't t have the burden of caring for him anymore, and I am sure at this point, she needs a long rest.

He may be mostly unconscious. He was very close to his parents though. I hope they help him cross over.
