A Blunder in the Pet Department at Wal Mart

Today, I decided to purchase a small bag of dry cat food. We have feral cats that stop by for food, every single day. We have leftovers, but not much cooked meat to give them.
I went to the pet department and was shocked by how much the prices have gone up. I didn't price the dog food, just the dry cat food.
I reached up to grab a bag on a high shelf. When I did, a big bag of dry cat food fell off and smashed into the floor! Yup, there was about 25 pounds of dry cat food, all over the place:( What a mess!
Three Wal Mart employees came to my rescue. The fella said, "Hey, don't be embarrassed! This happens all the time, we will just sweep it up!" They busied themselves to clean it up:)
I apologized anyway and headed for the grocery department. I've done worse things in my lifetime, this was fairly minor:)

Those shelves are so high! They use a ladder to put those items on display.

@kobesbuddy I just got a 15 pound bag of rice - that was heavy enough - a 25 pound bag is just not safe to be all the way up there!

I agree with you! Those bigger bags should be on the floor, not up on a high shelf!

@kobesbuddy No. I haven't had a dog since I moved out of my home. I needed to put Pip down due to aggressive cancer. She had a tumor the size of a baseball on her thigh. That was in 2016 when I put her down. It was the hardest thing I did. Other than when I put Rascal down in 2011.

I had a problem getting a box of cereal, different times. They put them on the high shelves!

@kobesbuddy I had to ask another customer, luckily there was a tall man also getting something from the refrigerated milk section to please reach up and get me a carton of Half and Half. It's annoying!!!

All the smaller bags are near the bottom. The big bags are way up on the top shelf!

Well, glad that the bag did not drop on your head. I am always ordering 16 and 22 lbs dry cat food bags for my cats from Amazon. There they cost about $19 but my cats are used to dry food now and I think wet food is much too expensive, I hope you have a good Sunday and Happy St Paddy's Day,

They should not put such heavy stuff so high up. That's on them, a poor choice when you consider something heavy can hit a small child or baby and truly hurt them. And they expect accidents, don't let it worry you too much.

Dog food for a 50 lb bag is in the 30$ price
which is crazy cause we use to buy the SAME
dog food 4 yrs ago for less than 20 $ a bag.
Hubby has done the SAME thing gettting
stuff off the top shelf & has droped what he
was getting & that's when I have to tell him
DON'T be doing that Ask for HELP.
