Yesterday I found a cucumber in the fridge. So I looked around to see how to use it.
I found in the pantry some burgol (tabule, cuscus) and decided to turn it into a salad. I had a ripe avocado, tomatoes given to me by Dixie and the only ingredient I lacked was parsley, miny or fresh cilantro.
So, as usual, I made it with what I had and ate a delicious snack.
But soon it will be lunch time and I have nothing to eat. I could make some rice but I don´t want to eat that. I could probably boil some pasta and add pesto. That would be easier.
Still, I want to buy some things I always use. I don´t have a single potato. And I could use a chocolate cake. I did not buy one the last time I bought groceries.
I will buy online. My little shopper has problems and will not be able to take me to the super.

I am glad you can order and have it delivered. Maybe you need to keep a bit more in your pantry for extra when needed. If I didn’t keep potatoes
, I would certainly miss them, the family would no doubt not be happy. When they are here the sons both love potatoes!

I keep things that can be kept. But all this summer the heat, I suppose, made the potatoes sprout in no time. So it was really expensive to have too much.

Yes, when it's warm out, potatoes do not have a long shelf life.

I asked for groceries online. I was hoping that the shopper I made friends with could take me so that I could do some exercise. But she has a father with big health problems and doesn´t have much time.

@LadyDuck I know. But I am learning to shop online elsewhere (I did not like it when the place where I shopped was sold to Uber).

When my ex and I were together I had an herb garden just outside the kitchen. It was so convenient. I dried some and froze others for use in the Wintertime.
Potatoes have got to be my favorite vegetable. I am an Idahoan and I could eat potatoes every day and never get tired of them.

@celticeagle Not this last year because they have been very expensive. But just now I had such a craving for potatoes that I bought 2 kilos of new small potatoes to eat with just butter.

A few months ago, potatoes got very expensive and they sprouted in seconds (maybe from the heat). So I did not buy them for a while. But I´m a potato eater like you. Today I made a cup of rice just in case but it will last me the whole week.

I hope you were able to order stuff online.
At times, we have to make do with the ingredients we have even if a few things are missing.

I ate a late lunch because the groceries arrived just at lunch time. I ate the marrow I had cooked took a nap and now I´m mylotting with a piece of chocalate cake at my side.
