It quit talking to him

I got an unknown number call, but between the two messages they had left at different times I figured out who they were. And it was not spam or a scam. It was a bit important. Bob is supposed to take his blood pressure on a wifi connected blood pressure monitor every day. They called this afternoon because they are not getting readings, and left a number for us to call. This device recites the readings out loud, but it quit a few days ago when we gave it new batteries due to error messages. We thought it was a glitch. There is the actual blood pressure device, plus a "box" that connects to the internet. I called the "call back" number they had left and was told they are not getting any readings. So this very nice customer service person directed me to the switch on bottom, and that did not fix it. Then we checked the power strip. . . it was on and okay. I unplugged the plug and moved it to another outlet, and the lights came on on the box. I also had to talk to a nurse to let her know we were testing a device. Bob had to give his permission for her to talk to me. Once the lights were on and the connection re established, Bob had to take another reading and the customer service person monitored to make sure it went through. The device is speaking to Bob again. Everything is running appropriately now. I am "in love" with technology and keeping it functioning.

Just what I needed at the end of the day, but supposedly this lets them monitor any suspicious changes. They did call once to make sure he was okay when he had a really low reading.

Oh good grief. Well, you handled it well. It was a simple fix, but still frustrating, I'm sure.

I guess it bothered me that this nurse needed permission to talk to me, while she was talking to me.

@MarieCoyle If we notice a problem, before I call anyone I will first turn the switch off and back on, and then unplug and replug it if the switch does not help.

@GardenGerty I hope it all stays up and working, so you don't have to worry about it all.

I am glad that finally you found a way to make it work again. Often unplugging and re-plugging is the best way to go.

When he received this device we told his primary care doctor about it. She laughed. Said it must be the new trendy thing for kidney doctors to do because several of her patients had received them from various kidney doctors.

Glad that the device is talking to Bob again, That is why technology make me kind of nervous, I am happiest when all is well with my desktop PC and hate it if anything seems strange,

@GardenGerty For sure. It doesn't always save time which everyone keeps sprouting on about. Sometimes it takes a darn sight longer to do something online.
