The dinner was a success.

My brother and SIL came with a bottle of white wine and a ginger ale bottle. Good for them, I only had plain water. The salad I made for starters was incredible. They cleaned the bowl after serving seconds. After they applauded it, I asked them to eat all that was left in the bowl (not too much) as it had dressing in it. Then came the trout. It was baked to perfection. The tiny potatoes were delicious. My brother and I declined rice but my SIL served some in her plate. They both had second helpings of it too. The conversation was nice and my SIL served the dishes and my brother took the plates to the kitchen afterwaeds. I told them that I´d eat the salad with a spoon as I could not manage it well with a fork. So they did not say anything. My SIL was enough at ease at a point to talk about why she had taked her breast implant that her had after her breast cancer surgery years ago. It seems that she had been in terrible pain all these years. It is a shame why members of the same family do not talk to each other for years and do not share their problems. I know a lot more about many people´problems than what I know about my brother. I hope this is a new beginning. I had 2 desserts. My SIL told my brother that it was too much when he had 2 helpings of ice cream but then she did the same. I put it away quickly before they finished it all.

Hell yeah, they best eat it all, sounds amazing. Meals like that getting harder these days. I really think something is up with food prices, its not sustainable, somethings is wrong and thats the worse thing that can be unsustainable. I feel we all going to be catching our food soon or trying to. Here they say its climate change, I agree to a point but they also think thats the number one reason for climate change raising farm animals and they fart alot.. No its still those industries like oil and coal and everyone could eat fine if you stopped industries that produced bad gases. Dinosaurs were here, nothing bigger than a Dinosaur fart, stop blaming animals.

I think that it would have been fine even if I had served less food. The rice was not touched. I´ll have enough to last me for a week. And I have trout for tomorrow in spite of the second helpings.

@crossbones27 I could not pay for the meal I gave them in a restaurant. When they invited me to a Chinese restaurant which was not very good, the bill my btother paid was about the amount of money I receive monthly from my retirement pension. As it is, even at home I can´t eat like this every day. Trout is an expensive fish. But it was a very special occation.

@marguicha Yeah, you do not want that to go to waste, glad you good. Those fresh fish like trout are amazing. I tried a restaurant once right after my friend cooked me a fresh one. I was amazed how worse it was. People were like order cow never order fish. Its true in America.

I am so glad Marga, I hope this is a new beginning and you will see your brother and SIL more often from now on. Better to hide the ice cream if you want to have some for you.

It was an iced dessert with raspberries, meringue and cream. I can understand that they wanted seconds. My brother asked me why did I make a leche flan instead of having part of the raspberry dessert. I answered that when you open a box you never know if you will leave anything later on.

@LadyDuck I know my flaws. I never buy the chocolate I prefer because I would eat it all at once. And when someone brings me chocolate bombons, I hide them in my closet and they last exactly that night.

@marguicha I know myself and I would also never start eating a dessert I know that I love if I have to serve my guests.
