Now if that was a cat I bet it may have jumped. Dogs can't do that.

@celticeagle At that height a cat most likely would have been toast.

@sallypup ..........I have seen videos of some cats who can jump a long, long way. It's amazing. The average cat can jump equal to about 3 stories. Some can jump further.

@celticeagle When I was just starting at community college I lived in the same building as one of my brothers. He decided to tease me with an experiment- dropping a kitten out a second story window. He almost got a punch to the head from me for that stunt. The jerk.

Poor dog but I blame the owner, You should always check on pets before leaving the house,

Glad someone noticed the dog and alerted the authorities. Hopefully the owners will double check to make sure the dog is safe before they leave again.

It sounds to me like animal abuse! The rightful owners weren't taking care of this dog:(

That is what I am thinking that the owners may have abused their dog.

@Deepizzaguy This is what I thought. A cat would have jumped to reach the tree.

Most likely the dog got out of her owner's home by accident.

That looks like a precarious balancing act, and it was lucky the dog did not fall off before it was rescued. It must have been desperate to get out from there, trapped on the balcony, to climb up on that small ledge like that.

It appears that the dog was close of falling down from the balcony.
