It wasn't that bad

Well, I finally had my brain sliced and diced yesterday... In other words, I had an MRI of my head. My doctor should get the results in a week, and I'll let you know how many squirrels are running around in there. And as I said, it was't that bad. The bed was comfy, and the tech put some soft wedges on either side of my head to keep it still, then strapped on some sort of clear mask over my face. I closed my eyes and had a nice little rest as I was slid into the chamber. Yes, it was noisy, even with my ear plugs in, but it reminded me of the old processor for the phototypesetting course I took in college. And that machine amused me to think there were little tiny men in there tapping out the letters...

It is noisy, but it's not painful, unless they need the contrast liquid, that one is annoying.

The noise is the worst thing about an MRI. I am glad you could deal with it! And I hope you have good results.

Glad to hear that the MRI was not horrible for you to endure. I am claustrophobic and couldn't handle being in that chamber. Glad it went well for you.

I've heard others say that it is very noisy. I'm glad you were able to cope with it okay. It really rattles some people.

I get claustrophobia in the closed MRIs. I hope your results come back soon and that they are good. Please keep us posted.

Our machine talks to you: "Breathe in" "Hold" "Breathe out". The voice sounds as if he is in the bottom of a barrel.

I fell asleep in an MRI machine before, but I was in that thing two hours, and a person has to do something. I am glad to hear yours went so well!

I probably would have fallen asleep if it took that long, but I think it was 20 minutes or less.
