No music tonight. Listening to the dishwasher.

After Guitar Center, I practiced my mandolin a bit. I had given my first mandolin lesson in a long time earlier, and wanted to get my "chops" going. I don't play mandolin that often.
This evening, I am listening to the dishwasher--one of my favorite sounds. I will probably leave the music off.
Kitty is at my feet grooming I am sipping a beer and will head to bed early tonight, as I was out late last night. I didn't get to sleep last night until 2 AM, which is unusual for me these days.
What are your plans for this weekend? I am hoping to get a pair of speakers in for restoration. We shall see.

I am just doing rather usual things, nothing exciting. We are supposed to have thunderstorms off and on all weekend. It’s raining now, not hard but a nice pitter/patter. Windy, too.
My dishwasher runs so quietly, I rarely hear it. I do hothe beep when it’s done though!

@MarieCoyle Truth? I use my dishwasher as a rolling cupboard for my elderly bowls. I wash dishes by hand.

@MarieCoyle My dishwasher is also built in. I'm an admitted slob though I do get dishes washed. Now I'm wondering who put the dishwasher into this elderly house and when? Its modern.

My dishwasher is built in. I do use mine. My son is usually here for all meals, so there is no lack of dirty dishes or glasses. Plus, I am one of those weird people who absolutely cannot stand to have any dishes in the sink, so the dishwasher saves me a lot of that worry.

Some rest, getting Chimney repair work done at home, some online time and not much else.
I planned to listen to a technical video too but time ran out.
Anyways, there is always a next day....
And well, feeling sleepy now !!

Do tell. A friend called last night. We talked for an hour and may go hiking tomorrow. I relented and put on some classical music (KDFC) to fall asleep to. I still have it on now. Kvetch Warning: We have only ONE classical music station in the Bay Area. One. And ONE jazz station. ONE. And both are public. This is the Bay Area, supposedly a cultural mecca!

@DianneN In Chicago, we had several. In Santa Barbara we had one, even though it's a small city. When I would visit my Uncle on Long Island, we could tune in several NY stations and choose which we would listen to. As the old folks say, "We're going to hell in a hand basket." Or however the saying goes.

@TheHorse It was called The Lighthouse Girl saga. I wrote about the book ages ago. A young girl during WWI sent messages from soldiers waiting to be shipped overseas to their families. They would semaphore their message and she'd send it on. It also incorporated the story of Sandy, the only remount brought back to Australia after the war.
