My Latest Accident

Okay ya'll I am beginning to think I am now accident prone!! Today, I was scheduled to work for the afternoon at the flea market. I was excited to get back over there and work with these ladies. We ended up having one extra lady today, a total of 4 in the office for the afternoon. The owner's girlfriend came up there to "visit" and she helped out whenever two of us were out of the office checking on something. We had someone borrow the flat dolly and it was left in the front area across from the checkout window and the office. My booth is directly across from the office on the other side of the wall there. I was coming out of my booth and heading back to the office which is walking straight through the door across the hall and into the office. I did not see the dolly at all and tripped over it and fell flat on my face. I was stunned for a minute, but really just dazed. I blame it on these glasses which were prescribed at a strength that was too high and therefore I can't see things up close to me at all sometimes. The nose piece to my glasses were bent, but not broken off--hey they survived 2 accidents in one month! I tweaked my right wrist trying to stop the fall and have bruises on my left wrist and palm of my hand. I also fell on my right knee which was very painful but that subsided after awhile. One of our customers that saw me fall asked me if I was okay when she checked out later and exclaimed, "Oh my goodness!! You have a black eye from falling earlier. You much of fallen VERY HARD!!" I told her that I already had the black eye from my last accident. She said, "OH!" and completed her checkout. I will need to get an eye appointment soon and get a new pair! The left lens is scratched a bit from the rooster attack. Another appointment to add to the list. It seems I never catch up on doctor appointments! I am okay it seems, so all is well. Edited to note that the know on my forehead has gone down and just bruised there. So anyone else accident prone? We can start a club!! Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

This pair of glasses were not right from beginning and after it was confirmed that he messed my husband's up, I didn't want to bother going back to him. I will not be going back to him. My husband has gone to this dr. for a few years. Mine retired so I had to pick another doctor. Now that he has made mistake--admitted to my husband that he prescribed too strong, we are both changing doctors.

@LadyDuck And why do they do that? Do they think it will make us see better? So odd!! I bet they or those doctors have perfect eyesight and can't really relate to how it is without perfect vision.

@kareng - Some doctors exaggerate with medicines and then the side effects are very serious. Also my husband had to change his doctor.

@kareng I think you should start a plea for people to send you bubble wrap. Yep. Oh, and a clear face guard to keep safe from that mean rooster!

Ouch another boo, boo! I used to be, but these days I try to keep my wits about me. My accidents are more like spilling or dropping things

I’ve been a klutz all my life. The VA tries to put me down as a “fall risk,” but I protest that because I’ve always had an uncanny ability to trip over thin air. (In contrast, you should have seen how easily I navigated the hazards on the walking trail at the park today!)

It seems like the medical community want to label you for many things. I know several that used to smoke as teens or smoked for a year, maybe two that were labeled having COPD. Haven't smoked in over 20-30 years and having no problems related to COPD but it is now on medical record. Geez!

She gets flustered though with checking people out and can't handle the crowds on weekends. That is why she "quit" but still comes to hang out or to see her "honey."

Oh man, that sounds rough! Falling over a dolly and dealing with glasses issues—definitely not fun. Glad to hear you're okay, though.
