5/17/24 - Update on My Husband

Hubby's PT was much better yesterday. He had recovered pretty much from his 4 days in bed. Today he may try steps again. My husband is having a little less trouble when they get him in and out of bed. Since we lost the Reconsideration, I called the number that they gave me. There is a complicated and detailed form that must be filled out and mailed into a Cleveland Office of the US Department of Health & Human Services. Administration will review what I have written and will make a determination if physical therapy should be continued. My husband's second cousin has made a habit of coming every few days to visit. She does his laundry and brings him candy. She means well but she is SO LOUD and dominates the conversation. She has kindly consented to take me to 3 of my doctors' appointments. I called the Business Office again about the $1,218. No call back. I have a number of a local Ombudsman. I will see what they can do. Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts. The cousin sounds nice. Her behaviors sound annoying but she is doing what she can to help. BLess her!

I am glad that your husband is doing better. The cousin behaviour is surely annoying, but she is of big help going to visit your husband every few days.

@Tampa_girl7 What makes it bad is that there is no PT on the weekends.

Your husbands improvement sounds promising especially if he's getting in and out of bed easier. Hope you can get an answer to your call about the money. I feel so bad for you Linda and wish I lived closer to help you.

It's good that he is showing some improvement and is doing well at that. Also, I do appreciate the good heart of your husband's second cousin. Despite how loud she is, she has been of great help and of great contribution in terms of both you and your husband's well-being.

My prayers continue, and my prayer group is also praying. I hope you win the next consideration and get a call back regarding the money owed. I'm glad he's doing better with the PT.

I am glad to hear his physical therapy has progressed again. It seems ridiculous doesn’t it, to think they might not continue his physical therapy. Hopefully, they use common sense.

It sounds like your husband is making progress with physical therapy, which is great news. It's a tough journey, but it's encouraging to hear he's finding it a bit easier to get in and out of bed. Navigating the reconsideration process must be incredibly frustrating—filling out detailed forms and waiting for a response can be so stressful.
