Three minor observations

Nothing special to share today but our winter seems to have begun at last. We had a lot of rain overnight together with thunder and lightning. One huge clap of thunder made me jump. We’ve had more rain this morning and some hail. If the weather doesn’t clear a bit, I may not go to see Vince in hospital today. We’ve talked on the phone and he’s happy for me not to visit. He might even get discharged tomorrow which would be nice.
Also, twice now I’ve seen ‘pled’ used as a past tense of ‘to plead’. I always thought it was ‘pleaded’ but it seems either is correct. ‘Pled’ sound funny to my ears.
And myLotter @MarieCoyle mentioned a teeter-totter in her post about drive-in movie theatres. Here, it’s called a see-saw. Just another of our differences.
The photo is of a very wet kangaroo trying to keep out of the worst of the rain.

When I was young, we called them see-saws. But now it seems most people here say teeter-totter. I guess both are OK to say, I have heard both.
Kind of like all the names we have for shopping carts--cart, buggy, even carriages...we seem to have many names for some things!

@MarieCoyle A bag is a sack and a sack is a bag. I got into trouble when I was a kid cause I called a bag a sack or was it the other way around? Right now, my adult mind thinks it wasn't a good reason to be harsh with me.

I never thought about that one. Here, both are used. It’s common to hear the phrases of paper bag, paper sack, plastic bag or plastic sack. That was no reason to get mad about, for sure.

Seesaw is also used here. Teeter Totter and see saw are interchangeable. Sounds like a day to stay home. Do you have a hospital bed set up for Vince at home? I know you were saying one time you were getting something like that.

I've used both in my life. But what is a theatre?

The UK is known for its inclement weather. We were really surprised when we were there with how hot it got from time to time.
