I got a message on my phone from my sister, Lyna. She's the one who isn't causing heartache. She said that her diagnosis was Adult Onset Alzheimer's. How awful! Yikes, this is a bad disease, this was a shock to Lyna and her family. Andy is her husband, who is taking care of her, at their home. Andy is the best husband ever born! I knew that she was sick and she didn't seem to be getting better. Every time I spoke with Lyna, she had something else that was affecting her physically. Now, the final diagnosis has been made. What a shame! Photo: Mine

Sorry to hear that, I know that's not an easy thing to watch. Both my husband's parents got it.

@kobesbuddy That's fairly young. My mother-in-law passed at 92.

Kharla I am sorry for your sister's diagnosis. This gene runs in my mother's family and I am at risk also. I wish her the best, as it is so difficult on those closest to her.

@kobesbuddy I find that in our family when health issues arrive, our bond grows stronger, and I hope that the same holds true for this family.

I am so sorry to hear that sad news. Unfortunately, there is no real cure for that and will just progress in time. I hope that they can still spend time while it still on the onset stage where there will be moments that she can still remember things. I do not know how hard things will be in the coming days since I haven't had experienced having a loved one having that hopefully the family can do everything

I'm sorry to hear that your sister has Alzheimer's. I know this is a rough time for you and your family. But remember, your sister is still the same person she has always been. You should try to spend as much time with her as you can while her memory is still good. In the days and weeks to come, her condition is likely to worsen, and it will be more difficult to communicate with her. Please accept my heartfelt wishes for comfort and strength during this difficult time.

That is awful. Sounds like Andy has his work cut out for him. My heart goes out to him and you folks. It's so hard to see our loved ones break down.

One of my sisters is also struggling with that awful diagnosis. She doesn't have a husband to help. A gruesome family drama is playing out between another sister and my sister's daughter now. Families can be so mean and rotten if they choose to be.

Lyna is blessed with two grown sons, who adore their mother. And a loving husband, who bends over backwards to take care of everything. My sister is well cared for and always will be.

@sallypup Lyna's two sons weren't communicating with each other. This will force them to ban together, for their mother's sake.

Lyna had a bad head injury, when she was five years old. Doctors didn't expect her to live for a few days, she was in a coma. One day, she woke up, swelling was gone and the bandages fell off her head. Eventually, Lyna went home. She has never been fully healed. She went to college, got a degree, was married 3 times, but she had absolutely no common sense. She would shop lift, with money in her purse! Sleep with married men? No conscience at all. Steal? Lyna got saved, she never studied God's word or served the Lord for ten minutes. Her mind was never right.

Oh that is really too bad Kharla. My dad has it as I have mentioned before. I mean you can still talk to him and he makes sense..except he is exceedingly forgetful. He forgets something two minutes after someone tells him something. I was talking to him on Mother's Day, and it sounded like he was talking through cotton or something..Those are the tangles in his brain affecting his thought process.

She has had mental issues for many years. She couldn't connect, with her thought patterns for a long time. Yet, she drives around, goes shopping, fixes meals, I know it progressively got worse.

Sorry to hear that, we live in a time where we pump fake things into many people. Many of us will get this eventually sad to say. I cannot even say hope she gets better because there is no cure. Plus, in these times, I kind of just want to forget myself. I do not see anything to make world better, but thats my opinion and why so many forgetting.
