Almost Busted My Face

Well, we have another camping trip done and on the books. We got a buddy site with my dad and his camper at the RJourney campground in Perryville, MO. It was a great time, and my sister and brother-in-law and the nieces and nephews all showed up. It was Father's Day weekend of course. On Saturday I was making some pork steaks on the grill. I turned to grab something from inside our camper and completely miscalculated the 3-inch lip on the concrete patio. It was all down from there. The fall would not have been that bad except for the very solid, and I mean park solid, picnic table which I landed the left side of my head square onto the seat part of. That hurt! I am still a bit sore from that, but at least I drew no blood, although it did swell up a bit and is quite tender to the touch. But I survived. We all contemplated hitting it square was a much better outcome than had I hit the corner of it, which would have potentially knocked me out, or maybe even killed me. My head hit the picnic table before my hands even met the ground, so my head essentially took all of my fall. Ah, the adventures of camping. Photo is of wifey and I on the last camping trip we took to Galesburg, IL back in May, but the look on her face was probably the same one she had when I fell.
