Abandoned kinkajou found at a rest stop in Washington state gets a temporary home

Officers with the Washington Department of Wildlife and Police rescued a kinkajou who was seen at a rest stop in Yakima Washington on Sunday June 23 when the officials took the animal to officials at the Point Defiance.
The kinkajou is currently in quarantine at an animal hospital until officials find out the origins of where the kinkajou came from.

@Deepizzaguy .......I hope he's getting what he needs. They need to find him a companion. I hate to see animals alone, with no companions of the same breed.

The fact that we can still see animals in the wild is fascinating. In order for them to live in peace within their territory, I hope they can locate and defend where they currently reside. I hope we can return him safely to his home and that he is not the last of his kind.

The authorities believe that the kinkajou may have been taken by force by an animal smuggling ring.
