I told you all about our day of exploring Monday and my find of an antique McCoy Cookie Jar. Here is a photo of it. It is in the brown drip design which McCoy is known for doing all kinds of miscellaneous pieces in this design, such as figurines, dinnerware, ovenware, etc. I purchased this one for only $8.00! I am happy with the find and haven't decided yet if I should keep it or sell it. What's your vote on that matter? Should I keep it or sell it? They are listed on Ebay in a range of $20 to $45. As someone who is trying to declutter, I say see if you can make some money. It sure is pretty though.

I actually took it to the flea market today when I went!! I would never use it. I have a rooster cookie jar (my youngest grandson loves chickens and roosters) and I chose to keep that one. Besides I like chickens too- except for killer rooster!! He gave me evil looks today!! I had to shake my board at him!!

@AmbiePam That rooster really belongs in a pot of chicken and noodles! He's a meanie for sure.

I like McCoy pottery. If you need it, keep it...if you don't, sell it. Good luck and have a great day.

I ended up taking it to the flea market today. I already have a rooster cookie jar so decided to keep that one--it is a nice conversation piece!

Do you need it? I got one last year at a Christmas party I could sell it because I don't need it. I have one and I rarely use cookie jars anyway I have one for pet snacks though This jar I like though because it has a small cat in it and is a homey scene

Unless I had a use for it I probably wouldn't keep it. But if I like something enough, it's amazing how often I can find a use of some sort for it.

I would keep it, that money won't make you rich and it is a vintage piece.

I'm trying to de-clutter though, and since I don't need 2 cookie jars, I packed that one up today and took it to the flea market. I'm keeping my rooster cookie jar. It will go more with my "old country house." Although the McCoy cookie jar would too!!

@kareng if you are in a de-clutter mood then it makes sense selling the jars.

I didn't have a hard time deciding to let this one go. Usually it takes me a bit of time to decide to sell them. I have been trying to clean out around here, so maybe that is taking over!! That would be a good thing!

My Nana had some pieces colored up like this. As far as if you should keep it or sell it, will you be using it? If you need it and will be using it, then keep it. Otherwise, I would sell it.

I wouldn't use it, it would just sit on the credenza and take up space. I decided to take it to the flea market today!

That is my idea of a traditional design for a cookie jar. I do like how it has cookie jar on the front of it, just in case you can't guess what it is for!

Hell. It's a cool cookie jar. But if I could make money on it, I'd sell it.
