I lost my cell phone.

It was my birthday yesterday, and I went out to a friend's house for a celebration of both of our birthdays. His birthday is tomorrow.
When I woke up this morning, I realized my cell phone was gone.
It had tried to squish its way out of my pocket at Guitar Center (because of my knee brace), so I transferred it to my right pocket.
But I wore shorts to the gathering, and those shorts have no pocket suitable for a cell phone.
When I discovered my cell phone was missing this morning, I felt sad. But I did maintain my calm and go into Sherlock Horse mode.
I checked my kitchen. I checked the space around my "throne." I checked my bed.
I then decided I needed some wine, for "state dependent learning." Maybe a glass of wine would remind me of where I put my cell phone the night before. I DID have a vague sense that I had done something "unusual" with it, but that I had introduced a "safety valve."
I checked my truck. Nothing.
But after I bought my wine and kitty food, I checked UNDER the music book on my right seat.
There it was.
Should I count this as Senior Moment #11,243, on my birthday no less? Or as a another Sherlock Horse victory?

As Paul Simon sang:
Yesterday it was my birthday
I hung one more year on the line
I should be depressed, my life is a mess
But I’m having a good time.
Hope you are having a good time, too.
And NO, this is not a senior moment. A “senior moment” is when you’re on the phone to someone, talking to them about how you can’t find your phone.

@TheHorse My favorite is finding it under a piece of paper.

Well, a very Happy Birthday to you, What did Kitty get you? Thank heavens you found your phone, It can happen to anyone. When one of our phones was missing in Latvia we also had a regular landline phone so we would call the mobile phone and follow the ringing

Both, and if you had accepted my friend request on FB they would have told me it was your birthday and I would have wished you a happy, and maybe some cake, too.

@TheHorse It can be a life saver. I've used find me, when my husband's phone was lost in the couch. I love the alerts I get, when I'm traveling with my macbook that it's been left behind. While all alerts have been false, I don't ever want it to be right.

I was going to say the best way to find your phone is to call it & you will find it that way
but since you found it after looking high & low for it, I'd say you had a little of both ha ha ha
a senior moment & a sherlock horse victory,

Glad that you find the phone.
However, next time you would have to be much more careful.
And well, sometimes stress does takes some toll on our lives.

This is never a senior moment. You just lost in thoughts and busy day and thats why you were forgetful about your phone. Do not read too much into it. The point is to keep our most important things in designated places no matter what, unless we are too lost with things. Glad you found your phone. A few years ago, I lost my cellphone .Unfortunately it was stolen as I kept it near the window and I realized after almost 18 hours. From then on , has been extra careful on not keeping smartphones near windows. Ensure to keep them near me and so far it has been safe. Well, hope you had a great celebration
