9/18/24 - Update On My Husband

He is still doing double PT sessions. His knees and his shoulders are bothering him a lot. He has RA so that doesn't surprise me. I have trouble with all my joints too. What a pair we make!
He doesn't mention anything about coming home now.
He wants me to peruse his stack of jeans to see if he has any in a smaller size. The ones he has just hang on him.
When our housekeeper picks up the mail, I'll see if the letter about the appeal has arrived.

Yes. If I were his age, I wouldn't feel like doing PT at all!!!

@LindaOHio I know when I was in the hosp & so weak I was I wasn't too thrilled
about P T either but once I got into it I enjoyed it.

@1creekgirl I'm holding my breath. The last time he was supposed to come home they sent him to the hospital for AFIB and found out he had COVID!!!!

It is discouraging to see them lose so much weight. We get to a certain age and it seems everything hurts, no matter what we do.

It's possible he's resigned himself to living there. Be in a place long enough, and it drains you. You loose sight.

@LindaOHio It could be almost wishful thinking. The first day George arrived at rehab, he thought we'd go home and come back for therapy.

It’s hard to do exercises when you’re not used to them. It’s hard when you have arthritis. When you’re not used to them AND have arthritis, oh, does it kill you.

with as much weight he has lost I doubt if he'd have any that would fit
but who am I to say what he has, I would get him what I call stretches
which is sweat pants till he gains his weight back, IF he gains weight.

@LindaOHio I'm pretty sure you will, I know when I came home
not realizing how much weight I had lost I had to do the same thing.
But 1 thing I can say, I love where I am now weight wise cause I
can find clothes that fit & look good on me, & I feel a lot better
without all the extra weight on me like I use to have.

The RA must make it even harder for him to do all that PT. He's a trooper doing double PT now.
Hope you hear about the appeal.
