Traditional Houses.

This is the traditional house in the Ifugao region. Although nowadays, houses evolved already, there is still some tribe who occupies houses like this. But some use this as part of tourism. This kind of house is called Bale as I remember it. It has a unique design good for the cool weather of the province. When we last went there 16 years ago, and telephone line was not available much in that area, you just walked into the hotel/hostel/inn of your choice and booked a room. But now, I see that you can use Airbnb and some hotels have their own Facebook account where you can make reservations. The advancement of technology can do a lot of things.

The house we now live in is about a century old.My grandpa had got it built. It is still a safe house;but has not space enough to accomodate a big family.

@rakski Yes.It has more than twenty inches thick walls.Perhaps that's why it does not collapse.

That's such a cool hut! If I had a large garden I'd consider getting one, it must be cool to sleep in it.

I hope that traditional houses will forever be maintained to show to the young generation how the culture of places evolved through the centuries.

Is there a platform off the ground for sleeping? The houses of the Karen tribes in northern Thailand were off the ground too. Certainly technology has changed a lot of things.

No. The lower part is being used to serve as their cooking area or other chores
