Anthony Simeone who is 98 years old joined the United States military at age 16 after he dropped out of Cranston High School East to enter the war in the Battle Of The Bulge at age 17 to support his family. When Anthony returned to America after the Second World War did earn his General Educational Development (GED). Thanks to Anthony's granddaughter who is a teacher at Cranston High School East in Cranston Rhode Island received his high school diploma on Thursday November 14 thanks to his granddaughter organizing the ceremony. Anthony is happy that his granddaughter was kind to organize a ceremony to receive his high school diploma. Link is 3831731691015 via @upi

A WWII vet, who fought for our country....dropped out of school to go to war at 17? I am sure that is a good feeling and he is very deserving.

While, it sounds sort of nice that this could happen, at 98, perhaps it is more a waste of community resources, some might think too.

I don't' consider it a waste of resources, but rather a chance to have something he would have had, if he had not chosen to go to the service to protect his country. He is very deserving of such a chance, and I would imagine he was very happy.

I guess I am happy for him. He did it to scratch something off his bucket list. But what's the real value in it? Nothing. He's 98. He doesn't need it. lol

it's good that he has a daughter who was able to organize that. unfortunately, i think there are some people that would like to receive their diplomas, but they can't organize it. but still - the world can be unfair place
