I spoke with him yesterday. He was in good spirits; but he's always hard to understand. He still sees someone in the bed with him; and his basket of stuff that sits on his table dances around...so he says. I'll have to see how he is when I visit on Sunday (hopefully). He says that the food is still awful. He claims that he's had ham for 2 weeks; but I doubt that's possible. Now he's starting to talk about coming home and how good he's doing in physical therapy. I still don't think he's capable of coming home. As far as changing facilities, he will have to stay there until his doctor's appointment on the 10th. Received a $16,000 bill from the facility. This has got to stop. Left a message for the billing person to find out if long-term care is less expensive than skilled nursing. Still have not heard anything about the original appeal.
