This is more about the Kantha quilt I received from my lead teacher for Christmas. I included the picture.
She had one for each of us laid out on a table, rolled up and tied in ribbons. I chose this one because of the bands of teal on it. It is perfect for me.
In the corner you see the back is folded over. It is all gold and white prints.
This type of quilt does not have batting or wadding as it is called. It is just layers of light weight muslin cotton. I believe mine is three layers. From what I read, if you need extra warmth you make it with six layers. The stitching is a running stitch.
I am glad to report I am feeling quite a bit better, but still will cancel a dental appointment and also coffee with Jane. Neither my hygienist nor my friend need to get sick at Christmas.

The quilt is lovely. Looks a lot like mine, just mine is green shades. I'm glad you're feeling better. It is awful to be sick during the holidays.

I used to get sick like this every year between Thanksgiving and New Years, however some of those times may have been from my family having unsafe food practices.

@GardenGerty Really? Wow! You must have been pretty wary of anything they made after awhile.
My mom and I used to get sick every Thanksgiving, like clockwork. My dad actually started to think we just didn’t want to go to his family’s. I was like, dad, we can’t make ourselves throw up.

No, I suspect she went to an international market. Her pediatrician is in Manhattan, Ks. a large (for Kansas) university town and then her parents live near Kansas City. I have never seen them for sale around her. It is an East Indian or Bengali craft.

I love the quilt. I've seen these before, but this one is beautiful. I love the colors, teal is one of my favorites. I hope by the time Christmas arrives, you feel better.
