Where did the wine go? / myLot

We took a friend to a Chinese restaurant on Saturday night. It was her birthday. There were five of us and we sat at a round table which had a lazy Susan in the middle. You are probably familiar with this. This table was ideal for us as we could turn the lazy Susan and help ourselves from the various dishes on offer. But I got the giggles at one point. Two of us had wine glasses in front of us. Vince was seated two places away and wanted to fill our glasses. The bottle of wine was in front of him. We carefully turned the lazy Susan to take the glasses around to Vince for him to fill. However, we forgot to take the bottle of wine off the moving part so the bottle of wine went its merry way to the other side of the table. Maybe you had to be there but it was pretty funny at the time. The photo is one of Vince’s fancy ones of wine and a glass.

True, We moved it very carefully but forgot to notice the bottle moving further and further away.

That sounds like a fun time. While I know what a lazy Susan is I have never seen one in a restaurant.

We had a big square table once and we made our own lazy Susan to go on it. They can be very useful.

@shaggin It was on our dining table so we would put all the dishes on it and people could help themselves to however much they wanted.

@judyev The Lazy Susan is an excellent device - when used correctly! This reminds me that I have bottles of excellent reds in the cellar (well, cupboard) that need a good seeing to.
