They must still have a lot going on

I check texts and messages about work, even when I stay home.
A district wide reminder went out today that students are to be kept at home until they are 24 hours symptom and fever free without medication.
Also two follow up e mails went out detailing absences among staff and how those absences were being covered.
I plan to work tomorrow. I expect they will have my student back tomorrow as well because his family almost never keeps him home. I often get sick with what he has.
This is very much like what we did at Christmas time, right before the break.

I'm getting over the head cold I had, I caught it from work, it was spread by the teens to everyone.

It’s so hard when so many jobs tell parents they can’t miss any more days but their kids are sick so often. That happened with my sister so her kids when sick have to go to her boyfriends moms house so she won’t get fired.
I keep my kids home until they have been fever free for 24 hours, no vomiting for 24 hours and feeling better. My sister said it’s rare that anyone does that people send their kids back to school the next day after they were send home for vomiting

I looked at the map. South Carolina’s flu outbreak is so bad they’re purple on the map (the “worst” color they have). It’s a bad flu season, and that was probably made worse by everyone being inside for 2-3 weeks because of that bitter cold weather.

I hope he's doing better and back at school. I hope you're doing better also.

I hope that this passes without too much suffering. I'm also glad the school has smart protocols in place.
