It was a candy bar

I was in the office working and I noticed a woman standing at the customer service desk with two little girls talking to the assistant manager, I was being nosey so I went out to see what was going on. The youngest of the girls was holding a white chocolate kit Kat candy bar and the assistant manager was talking sooo sweet to her but let me know she had stolen the candy bar and her mom/ grandma made her come back inside and tell us she stole it. The assistant manager looked at me and said " she has money to pay for it what did I think?" The little girl was swallowing hard and her eyes were watering but she wasn't crying, I knew she was scared, however, the assistant manager was way to sweet so I said "well " and paused moment then continued with " I will let you pay for the candy bar this time but if you steal again I'll have to call the police." In a stern voice but not mean. The lady told her to get in line and pay for it. When they left I told the assistant manager, you're to sweet, she told me, " I know and I'm glad you came out." Maybe the little girl won't steal anymore. Usually I deal with adults stealing not children. Ever had to do that before?

The parent/grandparent of the child made the right decision. I'm sure the little girl had learned her lesson.

Yes I had an older brother bring his little brother in once to return something he had stolen. I took it back and told him he could not come into the store unless his older brother was with him.

Hopefully she learned her lesson and won't steal anything ever again. It's nice to see that her mom/grandma is teaching her a valuable lesson by making her come back in and pay for the candy bar.

At least she is old enough to realize that she did something wrong. Hopefully she wouldn't do it again.

Good for the woman. She taught the girl a valuable lesson about right and wrong. And being honest!
