My Truck is Gone

We have to go to a birthday party about 45 minutes away and I was running a bit low on gas, so when I was out and about yesterday, I decided to get some gas. But what the hell happened between Wednesday and Thursday? Gas was $3.19 a gallon and suddenly it jumped to $3.49. So, I asked the wife what gas was on the other side of the river, and she told me $2.89 still, so this morning she took my truck. She needs her emissions tested anyway and her plate sticker renewed, so I will get that done. I will save on the gas, but the sticker will cost m $150.

@BarBaraPrz Well, it's held steady at $3.19 for well over two or three weeks.

I will admit, I may have written the title the way I did to get people's attention and pique their curiosity, which of course, is what a title should do. Did it work? lol

@andriaperry Titles do serve a purpose, don't they?

@Tina30219 I do think we will get some relief from gas prices soon, but it won't happen overnight.

That title was a bit concerning so glad it's just gone to get gas!

Hey, I thought you were gonna say someone stole your truck. Glad that wasn’t the case. Is the plate sticker the car’s registration?

@porwest I still don’t get why people in your neck of the woods put it on the license plate. Can’t someone just steal it? In NY we put it inside the car on bottom of front windshield where driver is.

@lovebuglena I have never lived in a single state that I can think of that didn't have a sticker. It's also on the back plate so cops can actually see it when they are behind you.

You saved money only to spend it on something else. But perhaps you spent quite much on the sticker.

Yes. But at the same time, since renewing the sticker is required by law, I'd have had to fork out that money regardless of the price I paid for gas.

You would think that gas prices would be the same every place but no they are not.

Everyone has different road taxes and of course, there are other regional factors as well.

I mean, don't we all need our emissions checked from time to time? Especially the older we get. lol

Watch those titles! As mentioned, I thought your truck was gone too. Now if it was a Tesla, I definitely would have believed you no questions asked. Big price jump! That's odd. Is OPEC playing games again? Ours was $2.89. And NJ has one of the highest state taxes on gas.

Gas prices are wild lately! Good call having your wife fill up on the cheaper side, but yeah, that sticker fee stings. At least you’re knocking out two things at once—gotta take the small wins where you can!

Prices vary so much. In the UK the variance isn’t so much but it is all worth looking out for the cheapest

@Danielclark691 Even if you can save a few pennies, it is always worth it. Every single penny matters. Every single one. And if you don't mind your pennies, you can never expect to have dollars to mind. A motto I live by that has paid multiple dividends for me over the years.

It almost pays to shop around anymore. I mean, I won't burn gas and go out of my way. But when I am out and about, if I see a good price somewhere, I'll throw in a few gallons.
