That is an interesting answer. I had not thought of that.

I thought of a tent, too. One of the homes we lived in was on a lake. Down by our dock area, was mostly woodsy/lots of bushes and trees. There was one tree near the dock that had one of those blue mason canning jars grown into one of the bigger branches. Nothing inside of it, but it was odd for sure. We always wondered how, and why, it was there.

@MarieCoyle I can't imagine how that happened. It is strange indeed. I know there must be a story there, but we may never know. Do you have a photo? It would be awesome to see if you do.

@akalinus Nah. They work for most sighteed people, but I only have one working eye. I have a minocluar, which I do use occassionally.

@kaylachan, I am sorry you have eye problems. Is there anything to do to improve the other eye?

Maybe you could use binoculars to see things at a distance. I do that often but I did not have them that day.

I hope it is not that. We lived about three miles from the Gulf so I suppose anything is possible. That is too weird.

I looked at the picture again, and I do see a dolphin. I looked at it from underneath the object and see a beak and an eye. Now, I am wondering. I hope it is not anything that has ever been alive.

@akalinus There's no telling without you going back and looking.

@DaddyEvil I moved away from that area and don't know when or if I will get back. I loved it there with ponds. canals, and ditches with all kinds of interesting wildlife, especially birds.

Your guess is as valid as anyone else's guess. I wonder if it is still there stuck in the tree.

How would the power outage make you more productive? I really can't tell what that is in the tree. You all have more practical ideas than I do. I don't know why I did not notice it in the tree. I took the photo because of the patterns in the branches and leaves.

Okay! When I first saw it, I thought it was a dog statue. Why do they nail flip flops to a tree?

I think it is a very good guess. It could have blown around and caught in the tree during the storm. I saw a picture online of something in a tree, and they said it was a drone. It looked a lot like my photo but I took mine before I ever saw that.

It could be! I am thinking it is bigger than a hat, though. It is kind of shaped like one.

Yes, I have seen them too. I remember a report about a car with four or five teenage boys whose car hit ice and ended up flying into a tall tree. It was a tragic day for their families.

That is a good guess, too.

Most everyone thinks that it is a plastic bag. It looks like something with a car or boat outline on it.

@akalinus To me it looks just like a grocery store bag. You can even make out the handles and the holes where they are placed on the rack to open and use.
